2015 level kit installed

Post by 2015powerwagon » Sun Apr 19, 2015 8:41 pm

Finally got around to getting my leveling kit installed , after mths of looking for a manufacture of a kit for the 2015 pw I ended up getting a 1.5" kit custom made for my pw by truxxx.com . very good quality part,s before level truck measured to the top of the wheel wells was 44" back , 41" front , after the level kit its now 44" rear and 43" front . sits perfect with still a minor rake that I wanted for payload . Boss air bags are going in soon . Got 100 plus kms on the kit so far truck rides as smooth as stock and handles great .

Install was simple with proper tools had to disconnect sway bar end links , trac bar bolt , and shocks . use to jack to evenly lower the front axle a buddy helps for this , install the spacers and shock extensions .

There isn't exactly a part number they built this kit specifically by my request , don't go over 1.5" or you will with the truck nose high . this is why I had it custom made in 1.5" most kits for the regular 2500 rams only come in 2" and 2.5" since the pw already had 2" of lift over the regular 2500 ram u will most likely have issues . e-mail them at sales@truxxx.com they will hook you up . here is there info

Are you planning on bigger tires anytime soon with the leveling kit?

PS- love that blue color, it's really sharp!

Any change in drive, suspension travel, articulation, caster, toe-in, alignment ? Did you have an alignment done after?

I have not taken the truck for an alignment as of yet , it drives perfectly fine honestly don't notice any difference . I think the 1.5" is just enough where I still have 1" of rake and it does not make a huge difference where it would need to be realigned , if this were a cv axel and not a solid axle I would get it aligned right away . but in saying that I am getting a set of 35x12.5x17 bfg ko2's soon and I will be putting there on an aftermarket wheel ( was going to stick them on the stock wheels but the stock wheels are only 8" wide and bfg recommends a 8.5-11" wheel for these tires ) , while I am at the garage I am planning on getting them to check the alignment just to be safe .

i don't like leveling kits, but that is a great looking kit you have allowing for a slight rake.

With the cross over steering, there is really no alignment needed with a leveling kit. The caster is going to be off a bit, but there is not really any way to adjust that unless you get aftermarket radius arms (or some type of drop bracket on the axle that adjusts it (like AEV's kit). Your steering wheel should have been off center a little though after the level. Did you have to recenter it?

I have been running 35x12.5x17 BFG KM2's on my stock Jeep wheels which are only 7.5" wide and have had absolutely no issues. They are wearing perfectly. But, most large tire shops (like Discount Tire) will not mount them due to all the legal bullshit. I had to find a smaller local type place to have them mounted up.

I agree with you 100% I want my truck to have a rake. But I use my truck to haul and pull quite a bit and don't want it to look like it's dropping a load with a little weight in the back. I don't like the look of a level truck but respect the people that do. Glad the op is happy with the kit and with his truck.

Op I'm running 315/70/17s on my stock rims. I bought and had them installed at discount tire. They didn't say a word about the rims being too small. If they do just tell them you have power wagon rims that have the internal bead lock. Most of the guys at tire shops won't have clue what you're talking about and will say yeah they'll be ok then.

As long as longer shocks are installed or extension brackets are used there really isn't any loss in articulation to speak of.

I like it and I final;ly got the 1" rear kit on from Traxxda. Cured my problem of having it nose high with a trailer. I took pics while I installed it, one of these days that build thread will start. Thanks again for the link to the spacers.

How is the 2.5 kit working for you? Any issues? I am getting the run around on weather I can level my 15 pw.

How are you liking your Traxda kits? I've been thinking of installing that kit on my truck, only company I found that does front and rear for the newer Rams.

If you want more of an entire kit, and spend a lot more, yiu could get the aev lift. It is basicaly just a bunch of spacers and drop brackets and new shocks.

Hey guys been following the forum for awhile and have recently been considering leveling my 2015 PW. I Really like jnalinsons 2.5" with the 1" in the rear. I have been looking at Traxda website and came across this kit that would really be nice if it would work in my truck.

http://traxda.com/dodge-lift-and-leveli ... -rear.html

Just wanted too see what you guys have to say about it. If anything I will do the 2.5 and 1 in the rear but this kit looks like it will make the truck look great with 37's on it, which is my ultimate goal.

I have no issues at all with articulation, tire wear or any other BS. The only thing I can feel is a very slight amount of bump steer, again very slight. Mine sat to level so I added the 1" in the rear and like it. I don't have any issues loading the truck down. My goal is also to run some 37" tires eventually.

I am not sure I would do 3.5" without a more complete kit. I have been installing lilfts for years on numerous different types of vehicles and never go beyond 3" without a complete kit. And that is usually for a pavement truck. I think that if you went this high you would also need shocks and its hard to say how the front arms would take it. I dont think a 3.5" shock extension is strong enough. It seems that it would move the axle backwards with that much, but I could be wrong. FWIW, my truck is capable of going anywhere I have ever been comfortable to take it with what it has and I am not afraid of much. I have a history of rock crawling with some built rigs and buggies. The 37' tires should fit nicely once I have the front bumper built. Remember this is only my opinion and I am sure someone out there is running it without issue, but I doubt the truck with it is being built for hard trail use.

I trust what you have to say, I figured that was a very large kit for the little it offers. Do you recommend your level kit with 35's? I would be using this for semi hard use and need something that can get me home from my hunting property regularly. I don't want something that can't take what I need to throw and it and even more. Thanks for your help.

Yeah, the truxx kit is fine. I have run it in Moab on some tough trails and use my truck for daily driving/towing. The traxda in the rear has never given me an issue either. If it was junk, I wouldn't run it and the shock extension is the secret to keeping the articulation. I think some people put way to much thought into things sometimes and over think or over engineer in their mind what works and what doesn't. I am normal guy that likes to play hard and kill animals to. I only buy or use stuff that works and make sure I install it correctly. If it doesn't do as it is supposed to, I will immediately take it off and send it back and shop for a better product. I have no reservations saying these 2 items with 35" tires will fit the bill for what you want to do and more. BTW, there is no shock extension in the rear for the 1" spacer. I just live with the small loss of articulation (1")in sacrifice for a level truck when the bed is loaded or a trailer is hooked up. Never noticed a difference off road.

I have truxxx 1.5" leveling kit on my 2015 PW and front springs are bowing a lot. Im sure others have had this problem... is castor just way off now and can be adjusted/aligned back to normal? If not how is this fixed?
