First long haul
Thought you guys might want to see a pic or two of the first Gooseneck trip with the PW. She did pretty well I hand calculated each tank the best was 13.2 mpg the worst was 9.5 mpg most tanks where in the 12's the 9.5 was through West Virginia. She has done the best of 15.5 on the highway empty so far. I'm very pleased with my favorite truck

Re: First long haul
Thanks yeah the mustang is now in the process of being restored. Going to be Acapulco blue with black and gold mach 1 side stripes and the Mach 1 black hood is going to stay the same. She is all original except for the upgraded electronic ignition so far. I was surprised by the mileage of the PW too but I pretty much got up to speed and set the cruise.05PWrockcrawler wrote:That's pretty damn good mileage towing. Nice Mustang also.

Re: First long haul
I think the new 6spd Auto is a huge help for these big pigs. I actually get pretty decent on the highway considering what the truck is. I'm actually curious to see what the 2014's with the bigger hemi and the 4.10 gears will do.vanished wrote:Dang - I don't get those mpg's unloaded in mine! Re: First long haul
Yeah I'm curious to see what the new 6.4 will do as well. They must not be available to order yet. I was curious and checked last night and on the ram build and price page the PW wasn't an option. I'm not in the market for one or I would call my dealer and see if I could build one on dealer connect. I hope they are just not available to build yet and that they didn't cancel the PW platform. BTW the mustang was a light load but the PW had more than enough power to pull through the mountains I could run any speed I wanted. It will be interesting to see what happens when I fully load the trailer with my T5050 tractor and see how the PW handles it. If the PW feels like it is over loaded or that I'm abusing it I'll just go back to pulling with my 6.7 cummins. I don't plan on the PW being my main tow vehicle I just want to find out if it will be a solid back up tow rig.
Re: First long haul
Awesome! I have a blue Wagon identical to yours
Just curious, have a good idea of about how much weight that was between the trailer, car, etc?

Re: First long haul
With a dry weight of 8576 lbs plus the trailer, you ought to be right at the max. It will be a good test. Keep us posted on this.

Re: First long haul
Sorry took so long to reply. I'm not sure of the weight I would guess the Mustang is in the 3,000 lb range. The next time I hook the trailer up I'll try to get by the scales and see how much the truck and trailer are empty. And yeah I love the blue PW's nothing against the rest of the PW colors I would have one of each if I could.aheiser wrote:Awesome! I have a blue Wagon identical to yours![]()

It'll probably be spring before I need to haul the tractor anywhere other than the main farm. But when I do I will update you guys.TwinStick wrote:With a dry weight of 8576 lbs plus the trailer, you ought to be right at the max. It will be a good test. Keep us posted on this.

Re: First long haul
Nope not light. But the power wagon rolling on 35s pulled it so much better than I thought it would. That's the heaviest load I've had behind the power wagon. I pulled it 30 miles and had no trouble running the 65 and 55 mph speed limits on the roads I was on. Even pulling long hills I only had to go to half throttle to maintain the speed limit. I was very impressed with it. I didn't get a chance to roll across the scales but figure it was north of 14k lbs. I have a 3500 that does most of the hauling and towing but it's great to know the PW is such a great back up hauler.adeluca73 wrote:That ain't light
