Electric step

Post by warroad » Fri Oct 18, 2013 1:58 pm

I've got a 2013 all stock. Would it be wise to get the extension on an electric step or is the standard drop good enough.

My power steps without the extention are perfect, even with the front leveled and on 35s.

They said they are doing to have the 4G step slider ready by the time SEMA show is on in the first week of November so they can use it for display at the show. At the $2600.00 estimate they are not low cost by any stretch of the imagination. They said the 3G will be likely done by November of next year.

I looked at the rock slide engineering steps, at a local off-road show. I was less than impressed. It is a great idea, but the build quality seemed a bit low. The material looked thin, and there was a lot of flex just stepping on them. I don't see them taking much of a hit. And if I remember correctly, on the truck they had them on, it was only mounted to the pinch weld

Well, that SUCKS !!! I thought it was a viable solution to the steps or sliders question. :(

for mild wheeling, I think they would do just fine, but I would not trust them myself

I had my amp steps for about 10 months and loved them but was afraid I was going to damage them wheeling so hard and swapping them and my sliders was a pain. Thinking of either selling them or fabricating them by cutting short ones and mounting them. Will see.

Any idea what a good asking price for a used set of Dodge branded Amp steps, I have no idea what to ask for them

the topper is a Bestop supertop. I bought it for my 2007 ram and kept it when I sold the truck. it fits the PW great. I have screen windows as well. I like it, It keeps everything out of the weather, keeps honest people honest, folds down easily for hauling large things, it goes on and off quick and easy.

Nice might have to look at it. Looking at a flatbed right now though.
