Tire? 35's v 37's & Nitto v Toyo

If it's about Power Wagons, all generations, this is where it'll go. This is the original PWR Forum Power Wagon Technical Discussion Section. And this includes everything that doesn’t fit in any one of the other categories related to the truck goes here!

According to aev, they gain an inch more uptravel with their kit on 37's (so they must flex somewhat good enough). But that may just be over a normal 2500. A power wagon may already have more uptravel, i dont know.

As far as fitting the 40's, they do a bunch of clearancing with those fenders. Their kit also moves the axle forward 1 inch. They also may limit some of the uptravel with taller bumpstops, i dont know. But i do know that with aev they are not gonna release something with rubbing tires.
The up travel isn't the problem, it is the springs not wanting to compress that causes issues with articulation. Image

Is the swaybar still hooked up there?[/quote]
I almost missed the quote. It is a normal 2500 so yes it is still hooked up.

Yea, disconnect the sway bar and you will see those springs do a bit more flexing.

This pic of aev's kit seems to show much more uptravel in the front...

Not Nitto or Toyo, but I figured better to post these here than start a new thread. Got my 37" BFG KO2 mounted up on my '16 today. Loving the tpms light staring me in the face now lol!

My truck is 100% stock, no leveling kit or spacers. Tires clear in every street driving scenario from full lock to lock and going into our driveway that has a steep entrance. I'm sure I'll get some rubbing when fully flexed though. I'll find out this weekend when I take it out to mammoth and report back!

A pic side by side with my dads stock height 3500 CTD on 285/70/17 for reference.

Those are really just a good size 35" tire, though.

Thanks guys!

Olyelr - Pretty much! Even still, they're a whole lot bigger than the 285s that's for sure. Aside from making the truck look a whole lot tougher imo, I really like that they didn't limit steering angle.

I agree. Looks very nice.

And I wasnt knocking them being a small 37 by any means, I was just stating that they are and that may be why there is no rubbing issues. I think a true 37" tall tire would definitely cause some issues with rubbing on stock suspension.

Agreed. Why is wagon spelled backwards on the front door? And the badge backwards?

Image My dealer tries his best not to sell a Power Wagon with the stock tires. You should see the look on his face when he looks at one with stock tires. Image They always talk the customer into 315/70's, I'm pretty sure he's thrown them in for free on a deal or two as well. When we took the PW to pick up the Challenger the other day, he had a new red PW, still had stock tires on it, I asked him why does that truck over there have spare tires all the way around, he just looked at me, looked at my truck and grinned.

Hahah figured I'd edit and add that disclaimer about the reversed pic!

So I've put just shy of 600mi on the truck with the 37s. I just got home from a friend's bachelor party trip up to mammoth. We didn't get to hit a couple of destinations because another friend bent his leaf springs badly on his taco. Happy to report zero rubbing, butt dyno says they didn't hurt performance, and might have lost .5mpg

Well, I ordered my Thuren control arms yesterday! Still have lots of life on the MT/R K's, though.....which is a good thing. I wish they didn't balance so poorly, as I would love to have them in 37s, but there are too many horror stories.
