Nice to see that Thuren's springs seem to take weight like the stockers. May have to upgrade one day. Anyway, what stage are your shocks? Would be nice to just float down the highway like a 1/2 ton!

Stage 2’s can be very comfy. Stage 3’s are a good all-round Truck valving, also quite comfy for what these trucks are!

Re: BoldAdventures 2015 Power Wagon Build
I broke a Thuren Spring years ago.. Tough springs, and got about 2 years of wheeling out of them before the passenger side popped... Let me tell you,,, Thuren stands behind their products... I called and emailed him a pic of the broken spring, and he mailed out 2 (not just one to replace the broken one,,,but both NEW springs) brand new springs (free of charge) And I am still running the original Thuren adjustable track Bar on my PW,, and it is still working well, after all the years of beatings..
Glad you went with Thuren,,,

Re: BoldAdventures 2015 Power Wagon Build
Ok, so I was just going to bring this to Moab to hand off, and I left the damn thing in the garage.

But yes, I just hardwired them and I have the manual swaybar disconnect now too. So, whatever, it all works. LOL
------

It has been said repeatedly that rear Thuren coils will kill your payload..... That might be sorta true if you don't know what you are doing?? I don't' want to exaggerate.
I'm going to do a more in-depth video explanation here when we leave Moab. I spent about two hours dialing in my WD hitch. And got the Airstream and truck perfectly level. Achieved over 100% FALR and towed this whole combo nearly 560 miles over the weekend. I also visited the CAT SCALES to get an accurate picture of what's going on with the truck and weights for each axle.
A few surprises there as well. It's a lot to go over and attempt to type up, so I think the video might be easier for folks to absorb.
That being said, we towed this setup weighing in at a GCVWR of 15,860lbs without the use of airbags. And the ride was smooth, stable and completely manageable. So you can run Thuren's rear coils, Kings and perhaps still get away without using Airbags on lighter travel trailers.
I'll share cat scale tickets and things later, right now is Moab play time for the next 3 weeks.

Yes yes, I am so behind on this thread. PWIM happened, and then life happened. 3 kiddo's now. Business, etc. I'll be circling back around to this very soon.

Re: BoldAdventures 2015 Power Wagon Build
I think Marcus made some minor adjustments to his bracket and the final product should be perfect. You're going to hate yourself for buying the steering dampener after you do hydro. The truck just drives better.
What we need now that we only run hydro is a stronger tie rod with EMF ends.

I'd also take a stronger steering since I managed to somehow fold mine like a pretzel in Moab. And maybe upgrade the brakes to hydroboost. Maybe. Kind of a day dream idea.

You don't need a stronger drag link with hydro. I'd still take one but it isn't necessary.

Re: BoldAdventure's Build - 2015 Power Wagon Laramie "ROCKLANDER"
Eventually, I'll clean up this thread. Sigh.
Latest update, decided since I'm doing a different tire/wheel setup for dedicated summer fun, that the OE Wheels would become dedicated winter tires. To that effect, I decided to go with General Grabber's new A/T X tire. It features full-depth sipes and is 3-peak certified for severe winter conditions. >> https://www.discounttire.com/buy-tires/ ... tx/p/43614
Plus the price wasn't nearly as bad as the Toyo M/T's.

In the summer I'll be back to running an M/T.

Honestly, it seems like those will probably work just as good, if not better, in moab. Not really sure what a mud terrain would improve on in hard/slick rock. Maybe durability?
Regardless, let us know how you like em!
they should be night and day better on snowy roads!

Re: BoldAdventure's Build - 2015 Power Wagon Laramie
This thread needs to be fixed badly.
In the meantime, the truck is now officially five years old. Still on the original battery. Noticed as the temperature dropped the crank is just a few seconds longer than normal. So it's time to replace the original battery before it leaves me stranded.
