I don't know why but I was shopping between 10 different PW in Southern Idaho. The dealer's there all had them. Montana too.

Not all that uncommon around here. Just last week I took mine to the car wash and ended up in line behind another one. In a town of about 50k I've seen several and there's at least a couple on the dealer lot right now.

In the Washington DC Metro Area, where I bought mine, there are plenty of 2016 Power Wagons on dealer lots.
On Maryland's Eastern Shore, where I live, dealers never seem to get them. Probably because we have no hills or rocks; just sand and mud.

I've seen 3 total, mine, which they brought to me from out of state. One for sale at the local dealer, that I haven't seen since it sold or transferred a few years ago. And a white one that is somewhere around here. I've seen him about 4 times, he's an older fella that won't even look at me at a red light. Maybe he would if mine wasn't debadged, he always punches it and speeds through the traffic.

Yeah, I did the dealer search out a few hundred miles when I was looking for the 16. Not much around that I was interested in other than one I found in Oakland Maryland and they wanted to charge to remove the graphics. The few on the lots were usually loaded to the gills laramies with those stupid tow mirrors. So I ordered.

I've bought three new ones from the dealer I use, and I'm probably his biggest PW customer. They never order any just for the lot. In fact they don't really stock much in 2500-3500 trucks. I asked why and was told they just sell more 1500's by about a 20:1 margin and they end up getting stuck with the big trucks.

Different area, different demand, I guess.

Lots of them here in Washington. When I bought my 07 this January, there were two on the lot where I bought mine, and one across the street. I see at least one a month driving around

I've seen only one Power Wagon locally, in my lifetime. I had no idea that they even built something this ridiculous anymore, my father thought they discontinued them back in the late 70's. With such low production numbers, they surely must hold their value better than even a CTD. (15' PW's for example, accounted for only .7% of RAM production in the USA and Canada *.53% USA*, compare that to my 15' SRT @ 5.76% total production volume). I didn't see one for under $38,000 within a 500 mile radius.

The chart shows it, I didnt start seeing any until 15, thats when the numbers started rising up. Ive seen maybe 3 15ish's around here, my 07, another 07(because it was for sale), and a white 07-09. Thats it in the past 3 yrs pretty rare in my neck of the woods too. I dont even think the people driving them around here know what they are.

This is true. I met a guy at a gas station (LOL imagine that ) with one. I started talking to him & he said the saleman said something about lockers but that was all & he had no idea how to use them. So, I showed him how to use them & do the "Power Wagon Shuffle" LOL to get them to engage.

I almost never see a 3G. The is a couple of 4G's running around here and there. But nothing local.

I did a little "research" on this issue. I think I figured out what went down with the 2005 sequentially numbered Power Wagon.

They reserved a block of VINs starting with 5G900001 and assigned VINs from that block to Power Wagon orders only. The block sequence beginning at 5G900001 (through 5G902672) has only Power Wagons builds, but the VINs are not completely contiguous. The minor "holes" I'm sure are canceled orders and such. Again, there are only Power Wagons built after 5G900001.

Also, even though most of the Power Wagon VINs are grouped together, they certainly were not assembled in one mass group. 5G900001 was built on 11/17/2004 and 5G902672 was built on 5/6/2005 (these are not necessarily the first and last PW builds!)

Where they screwed up is when they built the Pilot trucks. There are 53 surviving Pilots that were sold to the general public. Problem is they were assigned from the standard block of VINs for 2005 which began with 5G700001. First Power Wagon pilot was 5G700027 and the last PW pilot sequence was 5G720063. Some of these PW pilots are grouped sequentially, but many examples of "other" trucks having a VIN assigned among the Power Wagon pilots. So the sequential thing does not hold up for the pilots.

Another marketing ploy gone wrong I guess.

My dealer has only sold 1 since my 08'. It was a red 2015. They now have a Blue 2016. Before mine, the last Power Wagon they sold was in 1956 !!! Before they sold out to Castilone (1 month after i took delivery of mine), Hawley Motors was the oldest family owned Dodge dealer in America. Pretty cool.

They were ALL made in Mexico. Production numbers are where they sold/shipped.

In my area I've seen maybe 8-10 other PW's since 2005. I did see a another 4th gen yesterday though.

Well that's definitely an increase and good news. Only selling 600-800 some years does not bode well for long term model development. Really needs to be a lot more to be profitable still.

Idaho seems to be the place to go for PWs. Word is that you can fly to Idaho, be picked up by the dealer shuttle, and then just drive your PW home. And save a pile of money in the process. When I bought my '05 in August of '05, the closest I could find was about 400 miles away and I pretty much bought it over the phone without ever having seen a PW in person.

I had to order mine in '08. As there was nothing within a 1,000 mile radius at that time.
