2017 Laramie Power Wagon

Post by cattaco » Mon Feb 20, 2017 9:24 pm

I've read that you can still get the Laramie Power Wagon for 2017 but can't seem to build it on Ram's website, but I can a Tradesman. I was just wondering if anyone knew for sure if it was still an option. Thanks

I read that they dropped it. You can find '17 laramie's on the lots already made, but apparently you can no longer build them.

I do think olyelr is correct, but if you really want to special order (build) one I would go to your favorite RAM truck dealer - don't trust the web-site for everything.

All you have to do to get a Laramie is add:

"Leather and Luxury Group" & "Power Wagon Badging Delete"

Spits out a Laramie without the "Laramie" badge. All the same options, minus the chrome. That's something they apparently aren't doing on the PW unless you unlock the Tradesmen PW.

But I believe it will not look like ours on the exterior, though. Will still have the new wheels and all the exterior add on's aside from the stickers (grill, tailgate, black bumpers etc.).

Yeah, i would prefer the looks of the 2016, and there aren't many left over models around where I live. Not a big deal I guess, I had just read several times that you can still order a Laramie Power Wagon for 2017 but I've never actually seen one.

WTF are you talking about dude? I said sans chrome. What exterior add on's are you talking about?

Laramie comes with 20 inch chrome wheels. Mine didn't. Came with the same 17 inch chrome wheels as the regular 2015 PW. So you're getting the same thing, sans chrome.

When I said add on's I was talking about the new grill, lettered tailgate, black bumpers, new style black wheels etc. I was just stating that the truck would still look nothing like the previous PW laramie's have looked like on the exterior. Thats all.

20" wheels? WTF are you talking about dude? They dont come on a PW. And in a non PW truck, you dont have to get a laramie to get 20" wheels. And not all laramies have 20" wheels either.

The adult in me is happy with the mechanical performance characteristics and classy looks of my 2016 Power Wagon Laramie in granite metallic.

The kid in me wants that 2017 but NOT a Laramie. I want the black badging over the granite metallic because that just looks bada$$.... though i would still get the leather and luxury group...

I am right there with you. I originally did not like the exterior of the laramie's, but I wanted the interior of the laramie so I folded. My plan was to de-chrome it at some point in time, but it is now growing on me and I kind of like the relatively "low key" look it has.

Now you can get the laramie interior without the chrome/bland exterior. I am digging the look of the new ones, they sure are tough looking.

The wheels are little too big and the truck is a bit too high, at least for my tastes... but I like the rest

I definitely don't like the look of wheels/tires sticking way out. To me it feels as if the person doesn't know anything about wheel offsets, etc and done half-ass'd.

Yeah, They did this one like a ton of people do their regular 2500s. I see it all the time around here. Form, not function. A case of the guys at that dealership not knowing any better I think.

LOL nope it didn't take long, there's still only 4 or 5 dealerships within 500 miles of me who actually have these on the lots. This was the first lifted one to pop up. There's quite a bit of them in transit though. I keep watching.......

Here's a pretty sharp looking Power Wagon with Power Wagon decal delete. For those of you who do not like the IN YO FACENESS of the Macho graphics. Its a blank canvass.
This particular one has the Lux group with leather seats hubba, hubba.

Ok, I wouldn't mind Power Wagon embroidered on my leather seats.

You know what I noticed, silver trim instead of wood. Going to be honest, I don't like my fuax wood trim. It's cheap looking because I know it's fake.

Agreed. Fake wood in a $55k+ luxury truck is BS.

I wish they would have offered a Limited trim level Power Wagon. I'd have paid $5K more for real leather and burl wood. I like the interior of the Laramie but the vinyl dash and seat covers are nowhere close to the feel of the Limited or longhorn. At some point I'm going to recover my seats in 100% leather.
