Emergency Lights
Does anyone have emergency lights mounted on a power wagon Laramie? And if so how did you mount them?
Thank you in advance

Emergency Lights
Mostly an undercover look so 4 small heads like the whelen ions in the front and maybe two down the sides for intersections.FirerescuePW wrote:I do.

Re: Emergency Lights
I have a magnetic mount http://www.strobesnmore.com/Whelen-LP-S ... r-LED.html . I use it when doing extraction in the winter mostly, to help others see me & hopefully keep them from creaming me. I reduced it's effectiveness by 50% when i put the cap on the back, because it rises up 6" above the cab. I may or may not put something on my roof rack to stick it on.

I have 4 TIR3s mounted on brackets behind my grille, strobes in the tail lights, a small dash LED, and a mag mount mini bar that my kids bought for Christmas one year.

Re: Emergency Lights
You are no where near a whacker with just that. Are the lights behind the grille effective? I feel like there is a lot of grille to block lights on the Laramie. On each side of the winch fair lead is there enough room for a surface mount?FirerescuePW wrote:I have 4 TIR3s mounted on brackets behind my grille, strobes in the tail lights, a small dash LED, and a mag mount mini bar that my kids bought for Christmas one year.

Re: Emergency Lights
I have a 3G, so there isn't as much grille in the insert area to block them. I made the brackets, and the lights sit in a spot that works very well for forward warning.
If you put them on either side of the fairlead, you may interfere with access to the tow hooks.
I think 2sticks only puts his light up there when he needs it. I already had a little damage on the roof from an acorn storm (it happens), so I wasn't worried. It hasn't done anything horrible to the paint. Just a few marks that would buff out. Now that I have a cap, my son wants me to mount a bar in the rear window. I'm resisting. I don"t want any more. I just hope he doesn't buy one for my birthday.

Re: Emergency Lights

I like these for intersection warning. They mount under the mirror and are visible 180°. They're made by SoundOff.

Re: Emergency Lights
Okay I know its been a while since i have gotten a chance to reply on here but all of the lights have are now mounted and working. I have 6 lights, all Whelen and sync'ed up. Two mounted behind the grill, two mounted on the bumper and two mounted on to a plate welded on my white knuckle sliders. Pictures and videos are coming.

I know this is a done deal already, but all ya gotta do is spray some contact cement on the bottom of magnets & some on some pieces of an old t-shirt & stick them on. Thats what I did. easy peasy, & no scratchy. MUCH easier than hard mounting & can be easily transfered to a different vehicle if need be. It still holds strong, even at 80 mph.

Re: Emergency Lights
Same here in NY except blue is for FFighters. Our Police have red, white & blue. They are now so G-damn bright, that the police lights actually cause accidents at night. We had a head on in the next county because of the super bright lights.verdesardog wrote:Unless you are LEO blue lights are illegal here in AZ. I really like those step/slider lights. That's a good idea for when the mirror lights aren't enough and you're in a parking lot, or even more so out in the woods at camp.nhfd21348 wrote:Here are the pictures:![]()
