I was about to pull the trigger today but they don't take Paypal so, going to have to wait and transfer the $$$ from some parts I've sold. I am going to go with the "Air Ram" style. I totally get the logic behind the prefilter one and I think it is really the better option functionally but, I like the looks of the air ram style better. For those with the Air Ram, have you noticed any issues with water intake when driving in heavy rain???

Any rain water that gets in there, will be quickly atomized. You should be ok.

I've had my AEV Raised Air Intake/Snorkel thingy on my truck for over a year with the Ram Air setup, and I've never had an issue with water in the airbox. I've driven through big rain storms, snow storms, hail, sleet, etc without any issues at all.

Well... I am impatient, not gonna wait for the Paypal to deposit... went ahead and ordered!!!! Honestly a little nervous about the cutting involved (I mean, the only straight panels on my truck are the front fenders and the gas filler door, LOL!) but, it'll be worth it to not have to worry about hydrolocking my engine!!!

No issues here. Drive through deep snow, several rain storms, even forded a not so impressive creek too! I prefer the round pre-filter for looks and function, but it costs more, & it's benefit is for really dusty and sandy areas, enjoy which ever option you choose!! Since my family is near the AEV plant in Michigan, I let the professionals perform the surgery, they do it all the time, and saves me from the oohshit moment too!

Is anybody worried about this voiding their warranty? Especially if you have a lifetime one.

Dealerships are ordering and selling brand new Rams with the AEV lift, bumper, wheels, and snorkel/raised air intake. All of that leads me to believe it shouldn't be an issue.
