I only do what the majority of the 4 voices in my head tell me to. In most cases, I ignore two of them because one doesn't speak English, and I suspect the other is talking to someone else.

Maybe it's not horrible. Simple geometry tells (considering that tie-rod didn't get bent and all was swell before). You are off between 1/4" and 1/2" vertically, axle bows down (corresponds well to what your measured) and 1/8" to 1/4" horizontal, bows forward.

I'm curious what did you do to your right rear or whole rear end. Camber is off too on right rear.

actually looking at numbers -0.07 on left and +0.07 on right it appears as axle is slightly shifted back on left side. Well rear axle is not parallel to front so it can be front too.

Measure wheelbase, or rim to rim distance on both sides. Left must be slightly shorter.

I'm actually thinking I can get it back close enough with a truss.

Put it back on the alignment rack and put a jack under the pumpkin. Start jacking up the pumpkin, while watching the camber numbers. If they start to move. And they fall within the factory specs. You may be in luck. If that shop lets you tack weld the tubes in place. Then I think you could be go to go. It's worth a try.

I jacked it up in the carport and it didn't move at all. Will need to brace it.

You have nothing to lose at this point...totally worth building a rack/brace & tweaking it little by little.

I've seen some of the Thuren and rjr trusses pull axles into a frown from being done too aggressively, in this case may be just what the doctor ordered.

this is true.... Should totally try laying a crazy hot bead down the bottom of the long tube to suck it down.... Personally I would
Just try the big jacks and the chains like that dtx thread then set the toe and rotate tires a lot. If you do end up doing boogies in the rear you won't be dissapointed. Crazy how well they can control the trucks weight on full bump...

Nice mileage. Is you truck adjusted for tire size?
It would be great time to put on some manual hubs. I gained 1 mpg or so after I swapped bent axle. Mine was worse though.

Yes, plus I adjust my tire size as they wear down and calibrate with a gps. This was a long, straight highway with only four stops so that's as good as it gets, I average 13.8ish daily if I don't touch it. Tuner and 37's.

Man am I surprised, cracked open the differential finally and the oil looked really clean. The locker magnet was spotless, the Filtermag GP101 has done its job for 80K miles. I cleaned the GP and closed it up with fresh oil. Going to try to straighten it with a truss, looking good so far. ImageImageImageImage

It almost looks like you missing chunks out of left side gear. Or is it just play of light. My right side was all chewed up. Wisth I took a picture but it was too distressing at a time.

Where was the magnet? When I changed my fluid I did not see a removable magnet.

Mike
He added the magnet. It's from a company called Filter Mag. I think it's a GP-101, if I remember correctly. You can buy them through Summit Racing, among other places.

So Im getting back kinda late on this but I did go by Mercenary off road and asked about getting my Thuren truss put on. Todd told me that he takes the axel off and bends it a little with this beefy looking thing then welds the truss to the slightly bent axel.. If done correctly it will come back to straight. When I mentioned yours Will he said you might be ok......Just pie in the sky but just thought I would share what I was told. I wish I had more knowledge and experience with all this stuff.

Ordered a truss last night, we will see what happens. I'm going to attempt pulling it back in. As long as it doesn't eat tires, I'll be good. The gear box looked great other than the dirt I let fall in when I took the cover off.
