As some of you know, after 20+ yrs in the military, I was planning on retiring soon, moving out west or back to Alaska, and spend my retired days exploring and hunting off the beaten path. That's what I've been slowly preparing my PW for the past few years--not today's need, but tomorrow's plans. I'd say I was about 1/2-2/3 of the way complete w/ my PW transformation, and since it's not my DD, I was planning on having it out of commission for several weeks this summer doing more sustained mods, so it would be completed before I retire....
That was the plan. I just got promoted a few weeks ago, and along with the promotion, I was also given a new assignment to the Pentagon (DC
 ) with a 1 September Report No Later Than Date (RNLTD) Apparently retirement is going to have to wait.  I can't imagine driving the PW around DC is very practical, and I'm sure I'll be busy on most weekends, so the question is this: is it practical to essentially garage the PW for 3-4 years until this assignment is through and I can retire, or cut my losses, sell it this summer, and start over again with a 2020 PW when it's time...

  You already have done a lot to it. Also you never know if there will be a 2020 PW. The V8 is on the way out for most vehicles starting in 2018. Might be a 4 banger in the 2020 PW.
