Im in...just got a 2016!!!
Went into the dealer not expecting to drive home with this beast.
Pretty much everything had to go perfect in order for me to get it....the PW price, my trade, financing. Usually something falls apart within one of those categories.
Well, the sun even shines on a dogs ass every so often, cuz it all went even better than I hoped for.
Got the PW for 2k less than I had planned. Got 1k more than I had planned for my trade. Got about the best financing rate I could hope for without it being a 0 for 60 promotion.
It went so well, I even went ahead and got an extended warranty and undercoating/paint protection/interior protection/sound deadening package. Got the whole package for 720. I thought that was a pretty good deal considering I live in the middle of road salt america.
Options list...premium bench, luxury group, heated seat/wheel group, F/R rubber mats, rear defrost, power tow mirrors, sunroof, alarm, Nav, 9 speakers, rear park assist, back up camera, adjustable pedals, remote start, ramboxes, dual alternators, and bedliner.
Man, this thing is sweet!!
By far the nicest, most capable vehicle Ive ever owned....nothing even comes close.
First thing on my list is a Bakflip tonneau cover....and thats it for now. Im loving this truck in stock form. Nothing needs to be changed.
Just wanted to share....Im in!!!

Wait until you actually try to USE it as advertised....
It has the POTENTIAL to be the most capable pick-up on the market. The US Government says otherwise. You will live with TPMS, stability control and traction control that will not allow you to use even half of the trucks potential capabilities.
Mine screwed me over again yesterday. It took throttle control away in 4lo, lockers on, foot to the floor snowy hill climb. I had to back down, put tire chains on only to have it do the same thing. I had my fancy new Poser Wagon chained up in just a foot of snow, on a road I had plowed to the dirt less than a week ago and the stupid thing would barely climb its sorry ass out.
The PW myth has been busted for me. I was on board whole heartedly until winter came around and the truck figured it knew how to drive better than me.
Good Luck!

Snowsled I'm just going to say it- sell your truck and go find something that will make you happy. There is no need to piss on somebody else's excitement. I get it, you hate the safety nannies (a lot of us do). I'm sorry the truck has been a letdown for you, but it's time to move on.Snowsled wrote:kllrbee wrote:By far the nicest, most capable vehicle Ive ever owned....nothing even comes close.

Its all good...
Everyone is going to have their own opinion...cool by me.
Honestly, I rarely see myself getting into many hairy situations that the truck cant handle anyways. If it can do what my Jeep did (tight spaces excluded), ill be happy.
Was considering decal removal, but they are growing on me. I think Im starting to dig them.
I would like to get molded mudflaps. Anyone know the mopar part # that works with the flares? Can u also confirm proper fitment? I dont want to do a hack job...
Look forward to many years with this truck and learning about Power Wagons on this forum.

Re: Im in...just got a 2016!!!
Congrats! Mine is a '12 with just over 25,000 miles on it. I went straight to the dealer and bought the rubber mudflaps that fit the PW perfectly, flares and all. These trucks are pretty beastly, but like everything else mechanical has it's issues. I had a very pronounced death wobble a month or so ago and the dealer replaced the steering stabilizer and to date it fixed the problem. I'm gonna save up a bit and put all new ball joints on, to save a headache in the future. Mine is just the base model and am envious of your sunroof, lol. Enjoy it! I love mine.

Re: Im in...just got a 2016!!!
I'm starting to form a real negative opinion of fix it again tony trucks. My 16 with 700 miles on it has shit the transfer case linkage twice already this week up here on the mountain. I drove it 30 miles to a dealer yesterday to get it fixed and it fell apart again today. I crawled under there today and pushed it back into the bushing myself.
I'm glad I kept my 3G 07 wagon. It's worth spending some money on and keeping.
I would suggest you think twice about buying a new truck and look at a nice later model 3G instead.
You can't imagine how pissed off I am after spending over $50K and having this sort of thing happen.

Re: Im in...just got a 2016!!!
Any new vehicle will have the electronic nannies, mandated by our overreaching government. Its the governments fault, and our fault for letting those do-gooder's stay in office, and pass all those idiot proof laws. The new Ram's do have a problem with axle wrap, or axle hop, or whatever we're going to call it, but I think that can be fixed, or at least improved greatly with minimal expense. Despite those items I still think Ram makes the most capable, best appointed truck on the market with the Power Wagon (Laramie trim). I really like mine, and plan on keeping it. Did my first big mod today, ... installed a Mopar bed mat.
Congratulations on the new truck killrbee, and welcome to the family.

Re: Im in...just got a 2016!!!
Good for you, yeah when the good guys win over the dealers. Nothing's perfect, there's a few sour folks here that were expecting better, some are inherent to the beast, others sound like bad lemons, luck of the draw stuff. Mine has been great, nothing major wrong now at 25K miles, stock tires will need replacing this summer, & I haven't had the snowy climbing issues or wheel hop problems others with the 16's have had, not sure why either.

Re: Im in...just got a 2016!!!
love the piss out of my 13. Enough to just go spend about 6K on bad ass Thureen stuff I don't need! And some sliders too.
I hope you will come to enjoy your as much as our family enjoys ours. Long drives with the family are very comfy and I can carry all of my toys in the biggest toy.
Sure, its may not perfect and everything has a trade off. Use it and enjoy for what it is.

Re: Im in...just got a 2016!!!
Depending on what you are planning on doing with yours off road I would suggest the heavy duty rubber flaps. The molded ones will work fine if you rarely go off road or pay close attention, I would worry about snagging them on something and breaking them because they are hard plastic and have no give to them.kllrbee wrote:Its all good...

Re: Im in...just got a 2016!!!
Thnx for the welcome guys.
From what it looks like, alot of the disappointment is due to the electronic restrictions.
My newest vehicle was my 06 Jeep....so it had none of that. No electronic anything....you guys are familiar with older Jeeps, no need to explain.
So I am about as green as it can get with all of that. Ill just have to wait and see how much it annoys me. It might not at all.
Ill also keep a close eye on the axle/wheel hop.
After doing some research on all the undercoating, etc package. It seems like I should have passed on that. But with the extended waaranty I got at a discounted rate and better than expected trade, its like I got it for free. At least yhats how ill rationalize it.
Ill try to get a pic up little later...too busy going thru manual and setiing things up, etc.

...didn't want to say anything...but that's the dealer's way of trying to recoup some of the "good deal" they gave you, it's ok, at least you were smiling while it was happening to you...kllrbee wrote:Thnx for the welcome guys.
