While you're there, what color is the main wire that powers the clearance/cab lights? I want to put them on a separate switch.

Man, I thought long and hard about leaving it stripped and caging it now lee lol. I'm putting the interior back in though. Sadly this is still the most comfortable and sensible vehicle I own currently so I'll keep it a nice daily driver. If I want stripped and caged I have the jeep or the 86 lol

Been busy with insulating the interior, just about have the floor done, then hitting the back of the cab, roof, and doors. I went with raam mat as a base layer then I'll be laying down 1/8" ensolite foam before the carpet goes back in.

Gps and radio have been delivered! I'll lay out location and run wires once I'm done with the sound deadening.

Will-the cab lights on mine only have 2 wires running to them from up the passenger side a pillar. White and black.
Not sure if that's the same from year to year.

Finished first layer on the back wall and ensolite foam on the floor. Put the carpet back in today! Tomorrow finishing the back wall and underseat area then Friday I'm running wires for gps and radio and lines for fire system!

Pull cables for fire system routed - check
Antenna cable routed from center of roof to under drivers seat - check
Gps power wire and antenna wire routed up through dash - check

Drilling the hole through the roof tomorrow then mounting antenna base and reassembling the full interior. Going with a blendmount above the rear view for the ham head unit and gps mounting in the center console. Have to fab up a bracket to hold the fire system cables soon as well.

Haha thanks guys! Man what a day. Drilled the roof for the NMO mount and pulled the antenna cable out to feed it down through the roof. Got the cable re-routed and foamed the roof. Headliner is back in along with most of the interior!

Used to have a full bench in the back, but no longer!! Doing split bench and fold flat floor! Thank you eBay lol. The cab is fully insulated now and the interior is all back except where I still have wires to run.

I honestly did not know the back seat came any other way then the split. I've never seen a full bench. Except in the 2nd gens. Let me know how much of a difference the added insulation is for sound and road noise. I've been debating doing it for awhile. Although I doubt I could do as nice a job as you have

Yeah my truck is a base model and pretty option free lol. I'm lucky it had power windows. I'm not sure the juice is worth the squeeze for all this sound deadening stuff, but I'll let you guys know how it works for sure. It was a lot of work doing it this way, probably easier to spray something like lizard skin

I've also been interested in matting/sound deadening mine. I haven't looked too far into it though. I remember when Dynamat was the shit, but that's been years ago. Why did you go with Raam?

Raam has a better price point for the foil backed butyl rubber and it's essentially the same thickness as dynamat extreme. Combined with the ensolite foam enough to do the entire truck was about 700 shipped, dynamat was almost 400 more for the same coverage even going through Amazon. Sound deadener showdown was about 900 but if audio quality is the motivating factor they're probably the best choice. It just seemed like way too much work to glue all that mass loaded vinyl. So cost ease of install and using both a sound dampener and absorber/decoupler was why I went with raam.

Started the doors today, holy shit what a pain! Was able to do both inside the door and the interior panel. It shuts with a deeper tone and thumping on the door it sounds solid compared to oem. There are 4 screws and one bolt on the door handle then pull upward to remove the panel. The extra width of the insulation made it a tight squeeze to get back on.

Got the control head for the radio mounted today, I went with a blendmount and put it above the rear view mirror. Also finally figured out how I want to run the air lines for the air toggle switches and ordered the push to connect fittings and 1/4" dot air line today.
