alpine sound system problems 2013

I have the alpine "premium" system and I think its horrible. The tone goes flat randomly and the bass will completely cut out. Other times the system sounds great. Is anyone else on here with the 8.4n and alpine having this problem? Its a random problem so It will be hard to fix.

Question- does it happen while just listening to the radio or iPod, or does that not seem to matter? Sometimes settings on an iPod can mess with your factory radio settings.

happens when listening to xm. At first I thought the decoding was bad, but at certain times it sounds good. I don't use my phone or ipod.

Haven't had that issue with my 13. The only quirk that I have run across is with the "true surround" sound feature. It messes with the balance and fade. I will set it to center both and it will randomly go to the back driver side. It's done that a dozen or so times in the two years I have had the truck.

I haven't seen anything affect the bass but different channels on XM will have more or less bass than others. Sorry I don't have much help

problem was solved after I had the truck at the dealer for my third pinion seal leak. The amplifier was reflashed and the sound is much better now. The PCM was also reflashed and the downshifting on the truck seems like it downshifts immediately now.
