calls from dealerships

Post by mcdozendriver » Sat Aug 29, 2015 6:59 pm

Has any one gotten calls from dealers asking to buy your truck? In the past month I have gotten calls from three dealerships, emails from two of them and three letters I'm the mail asking. Yesterday was a Toyota dealership where I used to live, they wanted me to bring in the truck to have their manager give me a "crazy stupid offer" to buy my truck off me. I told them that it wasn't for sale but I'm sure I will hear from them again.

Has anyone else experienced dealers calling out of the blue for our Power wagons?

In other news, I picked up a set of 315/70/17 grappler G2s to put on the truck when my stock A/Ts wear out.

I get them all the time. For the PW and the Nismo. They always say that they will give 130% of the book price.

The ram dealership here in town offered 47k for the trade in. Im not going to drive the 9 hours to the Toyota dealer to hear their offer, but I could be persuaded for 100k.

who am I kidding, she's not for sale. At least not until the "new more focused" power wagon makes an appearance.

Everything of mine is for sale. I get an offer good enough, I have no problem moving on to the next project.

Yes, i have gotten them as well. "How would you like to upgrade to a 2015/16!!! What i do is this:  Then i tell them it would NOT be an upgrade for me because they have already started sissyfy-ing the new ones. 4.10's instead of 4.56's, no more manual transmissions, stupid electronic nannies, etc... . I'm not sayin they ain't nice. I'm just saying that for my use, i would not trade mine for the world. One of my neighbors was nice enough to let me dump some concrete on his property. He showed me where it was, so we went back there. He asked if i was in 4wd, i said no, just 1st gear hi range 2wd. He said he needed 4wd to get back there. I laughed & said "that's because you drive a Silver- Rado "!!! LOL  Then he said he always gets stuck going up that hill. Again i laughed & said what hill. So low, maybe a 4' rise in 200 yds. I told him to program my number in his phone & i'll come pull ya out anytime.

I got a call from the dealer sales person a few weeks ago and he insisted that with my trade I could lower my payments by a minimum of $200. I said really? He said yes and since yours is a 2009 I can guarantee a minimum of $200 savings on what you pay now. I said so your going to give me a new PW and over $200 a month lower payment? He said yes. I said in that case I will do it. He said great come on down. I had to get my free oil change anyway so I made the appointments and went down there. He took me to look at a 2015 and I said I'll take it. He smiled and said lets go in and get you qualified. I said for what? I give you my truck and you save me over $200 dollars a month right? He said "yes" and I said okay then when do I get my first check? He said what? I said It is paid for so I'll take the new truck and $200 a month for five years. That was the offer correct? He said NO. I said get your manager then! He said it doesn't work like that! I said that was your offer correct? He said yes but not if you don't owe anything. I said you never said that and now I'm here.. now what are we going to do? Long story short I took the truck around to the service department to get its oil change. Then hopped into the wifes Jeep and she and I went out to lunch on the sales managers $25 dollars that he gave us. I suspect that what the $25 was for in reality... for me to just shut the fuck up. This was a fun and profitable free oil change LOL.

Well played!! No calls for me. My local dealer has 3 more power wagons and two rebels. A couple of lifted diesels. They don't need any trade ins. Or they did see some of the scratches on it and don't want it back. Lol!

this sounds silly but then I think of long nights plugging away at it and changing and modifying and perfecting and I think 100k is probably just enough where I could buy a new one and have someone else wrench on it lol
