Relatively new owner from Kansas. Need a truck for work and am loving my first 3/4 ton. Most of my off road time comes in bow season. I will have the new rig in the mountains above Meeker in a few weeks chasing elk and bear.

these trucks are usually way more then you'll ever need to do excursions off the beaten path. Offroad stock ride quality is amazing I would suggest running the truck in 4hi and disconnecting the swaybar when in really bumpy slow terrain really takes the shake out of the cab over very uneven chopped out logging roads.

Any issues with disconnecting sway bar while towing? The path up the mountain is pretty rough, and I will be dragging a heavy duty trailer with 3 suvs, as well as misc camping gear.

Greeting everybody,
Just purchased a 2007 PW. I have got my list together yet of things I want to do other than replace the winch which is missing.?? It doesn't look like it was even there. Previous owner put 35s and glass packs on it. It's hard to stay off the gas with the 6 speed. I can't wait for the snow here in Upstate NY. I'll be stopping every once in a while

It will only remain disconnected under 19 MPH, so it shouldn't be a problem. You can disconnect it and just leave it alone. It will reconnect if you go over 19, and then disconnect again when you drop below.

Can you even disconnect in 4 hi, regardless of speed? I know you cant with the Jeep rubicon.

Welcome to the forum.

Every PW comes with a winch. The owner before you took it off and sold it for extra money I bet. We see this alot.

You can. And the truck will remember your sway bar setting if you switch from 4hi to 2wd and back to 4hi.
I use 4hi with the sway bar disco'ed on dry, bumpy/rutted roads, and throw it into and out of 2wd for tight corners. The disco really smoothes the ride out, very noticeable. I wish the sway bar would disconnect in 2wd.

That's why the Thuren fab swaybars and Carli swaybars rock so much ass^^^^^^ much softer and takes that slap out if the truck when offroad but still give you lots of control at speed.

New here as well. Crossed over from Toyota Tundra land and a life of Land cruisers, Tacos, Tundra's, and 4runners. Loving the new 15' PW I just got in Maximum Steel Metallic. The truck drives great on and off-road. Only 400 miles on it so far. I do hope I don't have to experience the "death wobble" I keep hearing and reading about. Any advice on how to avoid it or prevent it (other than not drive the truck)?
Thanks.

New here. Just crossed over from the Toyota realm after numerous land cruisers, 4runners, Tacos, and Tundra's over the course of my life. This is my first Ram and my first heavy duty pickup. Looking forward to exploiting all that the PW has to offer. I do hope the reliability measures up thought. I keep hearing about Ram 2500 Death wobble in the 2500s and the PWs especially. ANy advice on how to avoid? I've only got 400 miles on my 2015 PW and hope to get at least 100400 before I I see any issues.

probably won't have much issue with death wobble seems few and far between with radius arm trucks

Hello all,
Not my first Dodge product, but my first Ram truck. As much as it hurt to do, I just traded in my Rubicon for this great truck. I was looking for a more utilitarian vehicle for my family and one that meet my wheeling requirements. So I got a 2015 Power Wagon Larmie. So far, I love it. I've never owned a nicer and more beastly vehicle. This forum has a wealth of info. I do have one question. How come I can register on the forum but not the main page/registry?
Thanks,
Allen

The registry was created years before the forum was. The two have never really been merged together. They are basically two separate sites that are under the same entity. Leif started the forum as a place where we can all be together to share our knowledge and learn more about the Power Wagon, in a free and open environment. We have GTG's through out the US and Canada where we meet up and/or go off road/wheeling(also one of the reasons the forum was started).
Welcome everyone!

This is a great site to learn. If you have any questions I highly suggest searching around a bit first. There's multiple discussion on tire size mods and what not for the 4.5/5th gen radius arm wagons

Welcome to the family. The PW is a Cadillac compared to a rubicon. Lot more comfortable to ride in. Hope to see you on the trail!
