Lmao! The 'fake' powerwagons were a peeve of mine as many know, I'd never put them on a Cummins...
You are correct that didn't take long - about 10 months..
I loved the GMC 'plow truck' power but the wife decided to keep our LQ trailer for now, so we needed a bigger truck...
The Cummins has awesome power - tugs this 10k trailer around like nothing at 12.4 mpg so far...

AEV bumper is just what you need. Pretty much designed for a Cummins.

Only about $15K worth of stuff to get back to being like a PW. What a bargain!!!
Yes, I'd still rather have a 5.9 CTD, but not instead of a PW.

Here's an AEV in black for sale to give you an idea of what you could do to the truck. Apparently you have to have DEEP pockets to afford an AEV Ram from the dealership!

$81K and it still has Goodrich tires on it? I can't figure out the window sticker. Right hand column seems to show a lot of the good stuff (like lockers) as "not included." So $81K buys a lot of subdued bling, and it's just a fancy CTD crew cab with a 3" lift?

I paid $38.5K for my '05, give me $42.5k and I could make my PW into one helluva vehicle.

Honestly guys if it could have pulled our trailer I would have gone with another wagon...
But regardless - at least it's a ram!

I do love the AEV stuff (saw one in person a couple weeks ago in Dayton) - but no way can I get budgetary approval for that.. And we need the stiff towing suspension - my pin weight is over 3400 lbs!
Regardless - I loved the 12.6 mpg average over 1397 miles towing 12k lbs!

I think there are some good things that have come out of AEV. I don't know much about their suspension, and I'm sure there are products that are out there that are just as nice or better. The bumper is about the nicest one I've seen, I like the Raised Air Intake, and the wheels are a nice option too. AEV stuff has never been cheap to buy, but it's all quality parts. I think this proves why a Power Wagon is such a good deal from the factory with all the goodies it comes with. Granted, it's not a tow vehicle like Vanished's new CTD, but the Power Wagon is a pretty impressive beast straight from the factory.

Since I started this to harass you guys I figure I'll use it as my build thread... Still haven't got the emblems (j/k!) but did get some nerfs (need steps on this beast for my kids), flares & mud flaps - as well as some timbrens.
Before...
After...
I do admit the flares look good! Lol
