2013 Power Wagon purchase info

Post by Mike-H » Sat May 30, 2015 10:47 pm

I'm in the middle of a deal for a 2013 Power Wagon near Dallas, Tx. The truck is white with only 17k miles. It was listed at Vroom.com, does anybody know anything about this truck? Any issues? Was the owner on this board?

I can't wait to get my hands on it. I've driven Power Wagons at work and love them.

Any info is greatly appreciated.
Thanks.
Mike

Do you have a link to the truck? I don't know if it was a member of this board or not haven't heard of any of the 2013 owners on here selling theirs. I have a 2013 and in my opinion it's the best of the 4G power wagons. The best cab and in dash navigation still has the 4.56 gears unlike the 2014 and up. Higher payload than the 2014 and up. That being said the 4.5G trucks are still great trucks and wouldn't blink and eye at buying one if I didn't have my 2013. 17,000 miles is nothing on that truck unless it's been abused. If you post a link I'm sure all of us here will do our best to help you out. I enjoy seeing the power wagon family grow.

They took the ad down but I found the listing in my history. Hopefully this works for you. http://www.vroom.com/web/iui/#_vehicle21111630

That is a good looking truck. Looks like who ever owned it took good care of it too. If you can get a good deal on it I'd jump on it. I may be a little biased but I think the 2013 is the cream of the crop.

You're not the only one who thinks that. There was a brand new '13 Laramie, fully loaded, that came up a year after I bought mine for almost 10k less than what I paid for mine. I was kicking myself for that for awhile. Oh well.

I hope it's as good as it looks in the pictures. The paperwork gets sent Fedex tomorrow. Then it's just a waiting game till it gets to Casa Grande, Az from the Dallas area. Then I'll have a white PW to match the wife's white Rubicon.

I drove a '14 Tradesman Power Wagon before I started looking used. The interior was great but the power delivery was not. I'm still not sold on the new front suspension design for what I plan on using the truck for. I know how the 4 links work off-road, I'll stick with them.

Well paper work is all done. Still waiting on a transporter to be scheduled to pick up the truck. The waiting is killing me.

I think the wife is even excited about this truck purchase. She's showed me a few nice bumpers and we're talking about future mods. Rock rails are first on the list. Rockers on my old work truck took a fair beating. Not that I'll ever put this PW through the abuse that truck saw. Better safe then sorry because it will be used off road.

Once you see how well it does off road, you'll be tempted to wheel it more. Sliders are a good idea. I would also consider putting your name on the list for MYoung's locker bypass kit. For the price, it is an excellent mod. The list is apparently long now. Factory setup can sometimes be difficult to get locked up right away. The kit will allow for almost instant lockup. It also allows you to use lockers in 4 high or the ability to just use your rear locker in 2wd.
2013 Laramie, m young locker bypass, 315/70/17 Duratracks, synthetic winch rope and factor 55 safety thimble, warn wireless remote, Carli long travel air bags. Yoke snatch block, Crosby shackles and an assortment of ropes, straps and slings.

Oh this truck will get wheeled just not treated as roughly as my work truck was. That truck was taken places and driven at speeds I would never do with personally owned vehicle.

I was reading up on the locker Bypass. Some of the thread dates were kinda old, I was worried they wouldn't still be available. Always hated how slow the lockers are to engage. 4Hi use is a big bonus too.

Thanks
Mike.

Yep they are still available, Myoung sold his PW and became too busy to continue producing them but Cajun has taken over. There is a new updated list now. I love mine, use it almost daily on the 50 acres I'm cleaning up. I went on the Moab trip this year and think I was the only one besides 05crawler, which is hardwired, to not have a locking issue. Sliders are a definite too, I'm just waiting on a blender die and materials to start mine because this is what happens if you use a PW like it should be.

Congrats on the purchase too

Looks like you're in need of some rock sliders too. I saw some of the PWs in Moab pics, that looked like a fun trip.

I drive mine daily in the woods , forestry contractor. It is taking it's toll on my truck. 130K, need an entire new front end pretty much. Love this truck though.
Enjoy this life, cause it's all we're getting.

Moab is great. I always love my time spent there. Unfortunately I will probably go to EJS next year and miss the PW trip but I am towing the Jeep out there with it and am already on the request list for the fullsize invasion run. I wanted sliders from the get go but the truck came with those steps so I said I'll wait till those get damaged, then build some. Now is the time for that. Hope to have them started soon.

Had the Jeep pulled into the shop with the Wagon today. Thought I'd share a pic of my Power Wagon next to the wife's Rubicon.
