Will 37" tires fit with leveling kit only
Hey guys, I was wondering if any one had 37 12.50 17 on their 2014 PW with 17x9 -12 rim. With only a 2" leveling kit added ? Will it work ?
Re: Will 37" tires fit with leveling kit only
You'll probably need control arms. Unless the 14s are different than the earlier 4th gens
Re: Will 37
In addition to offset control arms like StubiePW said if you put a 2 inch spacer on your wagon you will also either need an adjustable trackbar or trackbar drop bracket. Need to keep in mind your truck on average has 2 inches of lift up front over factory. These components were never changed to begin... Adding another 2 inches on top of that will force you to need need longer control arms and to address the trackbar. There is a member on here running 37x12.50's on his 4th gen stock with just control arms... He is not running a mudder but an aggressive all terrain.Oglebuck wrote:Hey guys, I was wondering if any one had 37 12.50 17 on their 2014 PW with 17x9 -12 rim. With only a 2" leveling kit added ? Re: Will 37
I have had numerous conversations with Don Thuren and he assures me that 37" tires will fit on the 14 and up Wagons (They are completely different from 13 on down)... The key is either using your factory wheels or getting an aftermarket wheel with backspacing as close to factory as possible... I ordered Trail Ready bead locks with 5.8" of back spacing and 9" wide... I will be running 37x12.5 Nitto Trail Grappler MT's... Only minor trimming required... Just waiting on my wheels... I heard TR has been really backed up since Easter Jeep Safari... In putting the 37's next to my current 35's it looks like they will fit not problem...Oglebuck wrote:Hey guys, I was wondering if any one had 37 12.50 17 on their 2014 PW with 17x9 -12 rim. Re: Will 37
Sorry... Forgot to add that the 37's will fit with no lift... Don strongly suggested that I stay far, far away from any type of spacer lift... I was also wanting to upgrade to FOX shocks and he said to wait on that for a few more months as well since the ones FOX had out for these trucks weren't the right ones for it...

Re: Will 37
Not sure on fitment but yes, the suspension design is different on the '14. There is only one large control arm instead of the 2 shorter ones. I am running 35" tires and when articulated into the fender it hits the wheel liner in the front.

Re: Will 37" tires fit with leveling kit only
Here is what I want. I want the truck level or slightly nose high and I want to run the 37" super swamper M16 tire. What do I need to do for this application. I understand the 13's are different from the 14's. I just don't know what is needed for my 14 PW to run 37" tires safely and truck be level. Please help with detailed description on parts needed.
Thanks

Re: Will 37
I'm pretty sure if you can find a 37" tire that can fit on the stock rims (width), you should be good to go. If you read earlier threads, looks like adding the spacer lift kits are strongly recommended against.Oglebuck wrote:Here is what I want. Re: Will 37
If you want it level or nose high, put a load in the bed like a real truck, maybe a tire carrier with your 5th 37" and some tools.
Spacers only cause problems for a simple cosmetic satisfaction, you gain nothing else from them.
I have a 2010 and I know the controls arms have been replaced with radius arms on the newer trucks but as far as fender clearance, that depends on the location of the front axle. I changed out my control arms that moved the front axle forward .5", now, the closest points of contacts is actually with the wheels straight, once you turn, you gain more clearance, but I dont know where the axle sits on the newer PW's in relation to the fender.
Biggest thing to pay attention to is tire profile. Width is the most critical, say the tread is 10.5, the actual section width on an aggressive MT could be almost 14"... That's where problems start. Also, the diameter can range an inch or so. My 37's actually measure 36.5" and if they were 37.5", that would be an issue on the back fenders toward the front at full compression. "37x12.5" is simply a guide and not the actual tire measurement.
If you want an all terrain, I suggest the Yokohama Geolandar AT/S, awesome all round tire and light for it's class. 78# per tire if I remember right.
Mud terrain, the Hankook Dynoapro MT is the same size as the one suggested above.
These tires have a 36.5"-36.8" diameter with a tread width of 9.8" and section width of 12.9", stay as close to this as you can and you should be fine.
Quit thinking about it and just do it and be a guinea pig, everyone has to at least once.

Re: Will 37
There really isn't much out for the 14 and up gas trucks, much less the Power Wagon... In fact I spoke with numerous spacer kit companies when I first began to explore my options and many of them said not to run their kit on the power wagon because of the difference in height... Carli has come out with a lift for the diesels but nothing for gas yet... AEV has their lift but say its not ready for the power wagon yet, or at least last time I checked... As stated earlier I have had four or five conversations with Don Thuren now and he feels very confident that my 37's are going to fit with minimal trimming to rear pinch seam... As soon as my wheels finally show up I will be putting 37"s on my 15 PW... Don is running his 2.5" coils on his 14 CTD and has Toyo 38x13.5x20 tires on 20x9.5 TR bead locks with just the same minor trimming to rear pinch seam... Technically his truck is only .5" higher than a stock PW in the front... He told me that if I wanted the truck to sit level then I could actually run his rear coils on my truck and it would actually bring the back down about an 1"... He did not recommend this if I towed a lot, but I do not tow a lot... The rake of the truck does not bother me so my plan is to keep the suspension the way it sits now... When Don comes out with his FOX shocks in a few months I will more than likely upgrade to those as well... If he comes out with new coils with all the proper bracketry and bump stops then I may look at that for the front...Oglebuck wrote:Here is what I want. Re: Will 37" tires fit with leveling kit only
Just a heads up...I don't think they make 37x12.5 m16s. My 37x13.5s rub quite a bit on fhe fender when turning the wheel and that's with a 4" lift

Dude 37's on a stock wagon will look great! Awsome if it works!! I think you'll be fine dons truck runs 38's on 3" of lift with no glass so you should be good!
