That bites. When I tinted mine with this stuff I put a small bead of 100% silicone between the gasket and the roof for more waterproofing. So far so good. The spray is starting to wear off now though after a year and they are returning to their original orange. Oh well. Guess I could take them off and spray them again but I kind of like the way they are aging.

www.expeditioneers.com carries Airflow snorkels.
The cable setup puts too many unnecessary bends in the cable, and leaves them there under tension. I don't think it's a good idea. I guess it looks like you are ready at a moments notice? Some of the more experienced guys should be able to verify/dispute this.

Re: Power Wagon Picture Thread
Actually, winch cable maintenance, is an often overlooked thing. The winch cable just sets there, kinda out of sight, until needed. You use it & most forget about it until next time. But next time may be too late. If using it at max load, & it was not rewound properly, it can cut into itself by wedging in between lower layers & actually kinking itself. It is important to rewind it properly after EACH use, BEFORE the next use, even if it is on the same outing. That is one reason many go to synthetic rope, also the "risk to yourself & others" goes wayyy down, as it does not store kinetic energy like wire rope. So if it does break, it falls to the ground (ideally) & does not "whiplash" like wire can. It is NO JOKE when it happens.
While in the NYANG, i watched a 60 ton tank slide into a swamp. The next day, you could only see the turret. I watched from a safe distance as a http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/M88_Recovery_Vehicle M88 recovery vehicle attempted to extract it. The blade was down. It dragged it about 12' intil the blade caught a huge rock. It stopped. Then i saw everything tighten under tension. Loud groaning sounds were being made by everything straining. Then screetching sounds. Then BANG. Cable broke & made the eeriest sound as it whipped through the air. Came over the boom & made a 6" gash in the armor plating in the rear of it. They came back the next day with 3 M88's. They all worked in unison & pulled it out & up the 40' embankment.
