4th Gen Leveling Kit

Post by Oglebuck » Fri Nov 14, 2014 10:46 pm

What leveling kit works on the front if the 4th Gen PW. I'm having some issues with the local accessories store saying they don't make one that works because of the electronic sway bar disconnect.
Who has leveled their 4th Gen PW and what kit did you use. ??

Daystar 1" spacer should be fine for the 4th Gen.

I also have the 1" Daystar on my '13. Haven't actually measured it, but it looks level.

Was that installed at the dealer, or did you do it on your own?

I did it myself ... My recommendation though ... Get it done by someone else ... They were a bear to install

I bought a steel 2" one from eBay. Can't remember what it cost. It wasn't too bad to instal but I have a fully equipped shop with a lift. It would be tough to do in a driveway. And a better coil spring compressor than I have is a must. I have one made for regular springs. Not big mean heavy dodge springs.

Got mine on Amazon for $160, had the dealer I bought the truck from install it for me. They also said they were a pain to install so I'm glad I didn't try. I think it ended up being about $330 for the dealer to install it and align it, they also adjusted my headlights.

I got the Mopar one, bough it off Amazon. It was a fair bit cheaper than what the dealerships quoted me

Do you haul or tow anything?

Personally I wouldn't go over 1.5"

Towing or hauling will squat your rear, which is half the reason its nose low from factory. A full 2" or more will make you nose high with a load. Will be blinding on coming traffic at night and also look overloaded due to being nose high.

Hmm... I stand corrected on that... mine sits level with the jeep attached so it would be a tad nose high then.

I think a lot of it depends on the trailer. I see no squat hauling heavy loads on mine, but if I loaded my bed I'm sure I'd see some.

4th Gen Leveling Kit

Post by SheepdogOutdoorsman » Sun Nov 16, 2014 9:15 am

I'd try loading your jeep backwards to put the engine weight over the trailer axles, but still pull the jeep all the way to the front of the trailer to put some of the weight on the tongue

You definitely want to keep some of the weight on the tongue so there's weight on the rear axle of your truck. Otherwise the combo gets squirly when braking.

Yeah I've had people tell me they load 50/50 but I've never had a problem and would rather err to more tongue weight than.
