Wireless winch controller
Wireless winch controller
I just bought my 2006 PW and it didn't have the winch controller. Can anyone confirm if the Warn wireless controller will work with this winch. From what I've read on this forum and on. Warn's website, it appears as though it will, but I would like to confirm before ordering. Also, how are people liking their wireless controller? Any issues? Thank you in advance.

Re: Wireless winch controller
I like mine. Only complaint is that there is a small delay from hitting the button to the winch moving, so you have to plan for this.

Re: Wireless winch controller
Having the ability to work from anywhere within range is so handy. Being able to check the line as things get tensioned for kinks, binding, or being cut on something really helps solo operators.

Re: Wireless winch controller
Perfect, thank you for the replies gentlemen. Sounds like the wireless controller is the way to go, cheaper than the wired controller.

Re: Wireless winch controller
Anyone have correct part numbers? Both wireless and wired?
MIne is 2012 PW. Thanks/Fred
In addition the Support team at WARN say that the Chrysler winch "called" warn will not work with the remote. So any info on where you got a working wireless remote and part number is much appreciated.
Thanks

One of the best things you can do, can get away from the truck, control it from the end of the rope, just way better all around

It's 100% Warn.
I use the old style remote, WARN 76080 Winch Wireless Control. Works great!
Warn 72567 Remote Control Assy. Should be the wired control.

Re: Wireless winch controller
I picked up one of the new style wireless remotes and love it. The receiver plugs in to where the wired one would. Simple plug and play.

Thanks for the input.
FourWheelParts had the wireless controller WARN 76080.
One minute installation and we were up and running.

I just saw that on Amazon. It looks like it's a plug and play kind of thing. Thoughts: http://www.amazon.com/Warn-90287-Wirele ... image_autoThrottle 8 wrote:There is an even newer model out. It is the Warn 90287. I just bought it on Amazon.com for $113.

Re: Wireless winch controller
I am going to get that one over the older model with the need for wiring and remote sensor mounting location. You can just unplug it when not in use. Keep it simple.
2005 Black Pow Wagon mods: DT Profab Steering Brace, Gibson superflow catback single exhaust system, Locker Bypass, Moog ball joints (see how long they last), New OEM track bar bushings, T-steering upgrade w/ Bilstein 5100 steering damper, Power everything, Heated leather seats, (keeps the better half happy), Rear window defrost, Bilstein 5100 shocks, 35x12.5x17 Toyo AT2 Extremes, Customized H2 alloy wheels, Original rock rails with family friendly steps welded on, Tri fold tonneau, Hi-lift extreme jack, Tool box along with all the essential PW gear. New winch cable, Winch TPS bypass, Cardan joint grease zerk discovery. New front grille assembly. Magnesium Chloride under coating.

Re: Wireless winch controller
It's sweet, just don't leave the wireless module plugged in all the time. It might work it's way loose, keep it in the glove box till needed. That's the only pro of the older style wireless controllet, you permanently wired & mounted the transmitter to the winch & inside the engine compartment.

Re: Wireless winch controller
That's what I did, I ordered the one that plugs right into the winch but looked at it and said, "I will loose that" so I returned it and got the one with the cable and mounted the receiver portion behind the air box permanently. Put some silicone in the plug and plugged it in for good.adeluca73 wrote:It's sweet, just don't leave the wireless module plugged in all the time.
