2014 PW. 2.5" Rough Country Leveling Kit
2014 PW. 2.5" Rough Country Leveling Kit
I just ordered the 2.5" Leveling Kit for my 2014 PW.
Is there any concerns or things I should look out for after I install the kit ?

Re: 2014 PW. 2.5
There are a couple of things I can think of that might be effected suspension and geometry wise like shock length and trackbar length.
My bigger thing would be if you tow/haul any kind of weight at all you gonna end up being nose high. Also blinding others on the road at night unless you are going to be adding air bags to level it back out with a load.
FYI with that much lift it might be slightly taller in the front with out a load in the bed anyway.

Re: 2014 PW. 2.5
I'll be following this. I have been looking at the ready lift 1.75 leveling kit w/ shock extensions, for mine.

Re: 2014 PW. 2.5" Rough Country Leveling Kit
Being a little taller in the front is ok with me.
The reason I ask about this lift is because it doesn't list shock mount extensions or new shocks needed. I just want to make sure I don't mess anything up adding this lift.
I will have the truck re-aligned once the lift is installed.

Re: 2014 PW. 2.5
See me too , but I haven't for this exact reasons:
1. I've seen 1", 1.75", 2", 2.5" leveling kits---HOW is that possible? There's a nose down rake set from the factory & that = X", which should require an X" lift to make front - rear= 0, right? So why so many different "level" kits?
2. Law of unintended consequences, if you change the rake, what are the other dominos in line that have to be addressed & adjusted? I'm afraid my $100+ level kit will cost me $500+ in the end?? So what has to be addressed once the front is leveled? Track bar, bump stops, shock height, sway bar, control arms, head light pointing...

Re: 2014 PW. 2.5
Like I said, the taller the leveling the more things get effected.
And if you use the truck as a truck your gonna need airbag to re-level the back out with a load.

Re: 2014 PW. 2.5" Rough Country Leveling Kit
I think the 1" Daystar leaves a little rake for pulling, 2" Mopar completely levels it. 1.75" seems odd and the 2.5" sounds like over kill unless the new ones sit a little lower in the front that '09-'13s. Mine just took an alignment and headlight aiming and that was it.

Re: 2014 PW. 2.5" Rough Country Leveling Kit
Another reason I went with the 2.5" is because my friend put a 2" on his 2500 ram gas burner and it didn't level it. He still has a little front lean.
I guess I will install it and just see how it handles and acts. I can allways take it back off resale it and try something different.
I had the store owner call and make sure this lift would work for the 2014 PW and they said it would and new shocks was not needed. We will see.

Re: 2014 PW. 2.5
The Traxda 2.5"F/ 1"R comes with shock extenders for the front only. The biggest question I have (other than geometry correction that may be needed), would be what our extended and compressed lengths of our factory shocks are. If they top out too early, I think new shocks or shock extenders will be needed.
I still need to pull my shocks and measure them, than cycle the suspension and see just how much room is left when extended and compressed.

Re: 2014 PW. 2.5
Ram and most other truck manufacturers design their pickups to sit a littler higher in the back on purpose. After all they are pickups and are meant to occasionally carry something.
The new Powerwagon rear springs are kinda wimpy, and it doesn't take much of a load to give them that goofy looking "riding bulldog" appearance already. Then again, some people have trucks and never carry anything. And I'm sure there's others that just don't care.

Re: 2014 PW. 2.5
There's a big difference between a stock 2500/3500 compared to our powerwagon.
Making the comparison that a 2" leveling kit didn't level his ram, doesn't mean you need a 2.5" leveling kit.... Because you're wagon already sits nearly 2" higher then non-wagons..

Thanks man, that makes better sense. I'm looking for basically just plain level.Stickman wrote:I think the 1" Daystar leaves a little rake for pulling, 2" Mopar completely levels it. 1.75" seems odd and the 2.5" sounds like over kill unless the new ones sit a little lower in the front that '09-'13s. Re: 2014 PW. 2.5

The last to time I checked, the MOPAR kit wasn't listed as being compatible w/ a 2014. I found the Daystar was 2014 compatible, & one other that I can't remember right now, but I saved the website, I'll look for it.Stickman wrote:I think the 1" Daystar leaves a little rake for pulling, 2" Mopar completely levels it. 1.75" seems odd and the 2.5" sounds like over kill unless the new ones sit a little lower in the front that '09-'13s. Re: 2014 PW. 2.5" Rough Country Leveling Kit
I have the Airlift Load Lifter 5000 air bags and Daystar cradles and that combo will work great for anybody looking to run a levelling kit on their 2014 and up PW and then keep the truck level with a load in it. I don't have any levelling kit installed and when I was hooked up to my travel trailer and had an ATV, gear, and half a moose in the back of my truck I was able to air up the bags and have it almost at the factory stance.
Loving my 3/4 ton version of my old Jeep TJ!!!!!
Re: 2014 PW. 2.5" Rough Country Leveling Kit
After more research I have canceled the rough country lift and decided to go with a super lift 2.5" leveling kit. That kit comes with shock extension brackets.

Re: 2014 PW. 2.5
Won't that put you like 1-1.5" nose high then? Per the spec sheet found on the MOPAR RAM Duty Heavy Duty Build Sheet site, the rear has a 2" lift over the standard 2500, and the front has 1" lift over the standard. Thus, adding 2.5" to the front brings you to 3.5" Front - 2" Rear = 1.5" front high?

Re: 2014 PW. 2.5" Rough Country Leveling Kit
If the front has 1" less lift than the rear it should have even more rake than a standard 2500. Even if it is the same I'm sure there is enough rake to it to at least make it sit level.adeluca73 wrote:Won't that put you like 1-1.5" nose high then? Re: 2014 PW. 2.5" Rough Country Leveling Kit
If I was going over 1.5" I'd go with new coils. Spacers over that amount scare me. Remind me of the body lifts everyone was doing years ago that eventually just caused more problems.
