Re: Power Wagon Picture Thread
Have any tread views of them or do you have a build thread on it? I am looking for a set of winters to mount on my stock wheels...also debating on getting out of the mud terrain game and looking more towards and aggressive all terrain that rides better at faster speeds

Went to the mountains to set up trail cams.

I kind of have a build thread here. I've been meaning to sit down one day and begin from scratch, but I guess I'll jump back on it and update some.2wagons1driveway wrote:Have any tread views of them or do you have a build thread on it? As far as the tires, I live in Florida where I get into more sand than mud so I wanted something different than a MT. Don Thuren himself actually suggested these tires when I was debating on his control arms to allow more clearance with 35's. Once I figured out I could go to 37's, why not?

Reviews on the tires are old and scarce. A few years back they had some bad ones that didn't last long at all. But they changed a few things and started promoting them again. I found out a few trucks use them in the Baja races with great results. They're high speed rated. SUPER smooth riding and have a very slight semi tire whine to them. I haven't literally looked closely but when they balance them, I'm quite positive there's less than 3 oz on any tire. I thought that was awesome for a 37" tire. The tread depth is really deep and I haven't had any issues with them loosing traction. They do really well in the rain as well. SNOW? I have no idea.
Clearing the 37's with Thuren arms on a 4th Gen, the profile of the tire will make it or break it. If my tires were 1" taller, they would rub the fender wells in the back and in the front. They're 36.5" overall and have a "rounded " profile versus a standard "squared" off profile like a MT.
Overall, I can't be happier with the set up. Rides great, plenty of ground clearance and go anywhere I want to go.

Nice! I'll look at them more. I had geolander winters on an old truck I had and they were awsome but can't get a 37" winter (Wahh!) that would be killer. Thanks for the info nice truck! Will wrote:I kind of have a build thread here. 2wagons, go right ahead.
That rear tire is actually off the ground in that pic. Even so, the bed and cab are still aligned. I love this truck!

Not sure if the rear lockers are different. Both the front & rear axles are bigger (I think), 11.5 & 9.25.2wagons1driveway wrote:Heard that the 2014 now have the 11.5" aam in them?? Thanks for the kind words. Ton of time and money in this truck and still has room for improvement! Just out of money for a while so it will need to be wheeled like this until next fall. Gotta save cash for Moab run next year with all the cool PW people lol.
