At this point, it's unlikely. That's next weekend already! Evan emailed me again today, and mentioned that UPS is slow to pay on claims. He's been very good about taking care of all the BS associated with this.

It's a bummer about the bumper, but by the sounds of it Evan sounds pretty classy.

And considering we mocked up the front bumper on not only a Saturday but his wife's birthday before he went to the lake... he definitely takes care of his customers.

Just pay to have it recoated and just let them reimburse you later. I had a similar issue with my bumper and that's what I ended up doing.

Bummer about your shipping damage. Good luck on getting UPS to pay up. They are like molasses in winter for things like that, I agree that it would make sense to just get it recoated and have them reimburse you for the cost.
BTW I love this site. It is really hard to find on the internet so it isn't clogged up with a bunch or trolls and spammers, and almost every post is informative. I have looked at aftermarket bumpers for a few years but I didn't want to impact the approach & departure angles, I don't need a brush guard, and I didn't want the additional bulk and length. I had pretty much given up - I don't want a road warrior bumper, just a steel version similar to the original.
I have an old warn over/under winch that I want to use as a rear winch. A removable mount from the rear bumper would be perfect and even with customization the prices from backwoods seem very reasonable. Reading through this thread I have never seen that winch mount where the spare tire sits....cool idea!

This was our answer to not using the factory brackets but still utilizing the factory winch mount.

So did you move the winch, or did it stay in the factory location?

Is there an access door for the top of the winch area? If not you may have them notch one out for viewing & accessibility...that's something I believe all winch areas could use.

On the 4th Gens we have to reach through the bumper to access the winch. Looks like the same would be true here. Not a big deal in the long run. I just want to see the finished product.
If there are any straight on pictures that can be posted with the grill on, that would be really helpful too.

Forgot about actually measuring things but this thing sits 4 1/2" out from grill and has 17" of ground clearance. Lots more on the ends. It looked as if I was loosing ground clearance but it sits 2" higher than factory bumper with the "valence" plastic piece. Evan said it can be moved up no problem but I went ahead and signed off as is. I think in a perfect world I would like to see another 2" of clearance but I'm happy with the out come. Getting coated on Tuesday and actually installed on Friday, then to hook up the fogs and I'm going to take my extra grill and bedcoat it and decide if I want to go all black or keep some chrome accents.

Well, we tried. The claim from UPS Freight was denied - I accepted the bumper on the dock, so that's that. Nobody's fault but mine.
So, I finished removing all the line from the inside of the bumper as well and the front. I used aircraft paint stripper and my pressure washer, and it looks ready to go. Looks like my Memorial Day will be spent painting it on Saturday, removing the stock bumper on Sunday, and installing the Backwoods bumper on Monday. That should let me do the job at a relaxed pace, and that's what I need. I'm heading in for carpal tunnel and elbow surgery in a couple weeks, so it has to be finished before that. Won't be fun tho, my right hand has been continuously numb for a couple months.
I'm just along for the ride...

I'm starting to think this bumper without the bar might be the way for me to go. I like the looks of the bar, but I really don't want to move my LED's I have behind my grill.

Well here is a shot of a sweet PW they just bumperfied. He went with their regular bumper tho so it sits out a bit more but no bar on it. Not sure who it is but he drove from Colorado to Arkansas just to install the bumpers.
