I believe the stabilizer you mentioned should still work.

The pictures were just meant to demonstrate the bolt through design over the clamps. From what I was told we're all going back to the bolt through design.

Looks as if they are receiving shipments now of the fixed, then fixed again, parts. It'll still be a couple of months before they get to me, but at least there's news. From speaking with the service manager it looks as if we're losing our clamped dampener in favor (and I say that lightly) of a bolted design.

Got an appointment to get my recall done on the April 22. Wonder if that (bolt vs. clamp bracket) is going to affect the use of my Bilstein 5100 steering stabilizer?
I had an appointment to get mine on January 13th, they looked and then ordered the parts.... What day is it now? Still no parts....

My service dept. told me the damper would still be clamped. Hmmm... Sounds like nobody knows for sure. Did anyone here get the new parts?

Oh, and they did confirm a "recall" of the original recall replacement parts. I told them to order the new stuff for me, but at this point I have completely lost faith in Ram's ability to build a steering setup for these trucks. I said I would probably go aftermarket, since my parts proba ly won't arrive till December at this rate. They are allowed to order ONE PER WEEK!!! And they are a big dealership.

Going in to get my "new" linkage tomorrow. Hope they don't screw it up. My current set up seems fine. Checked all the tie rods and they are straight up and solid. Been running it to and fro since the notice came out several months ago with no issues. Thinking I might just say "no thanks" if it is the old Y-style linkage again and keep my T-style "upgrade" that I paid good money for two years ago. Dealerships make me nervous. :chug:

I'm on the fence about it too. Almost a 100k miles and mines still tight. Kind of thinking "If it ain't broke, don't fix it"...

New linkage
Well I went and got my recall done today. Turns out it is the same T-style linkage! :D They only replace the bottom rod and TRE's but still able to use the same shock. Also gets an alignment and I got tires rotated and ball joints checked while I was there. It all looks good and new. Happy I did it. Also saw a sweet AEV Rubicon with a 5.7 Hemi for 90k there that had me drooling while I waited. Man I want one of those too!

I was told the steering stabilizer was going to be a bolt through design. Maybe that's just for the 4G's

Bolt through stabilizer would be going backwards in time. The 08 + rigs started getting the T-style. The T-steering is much beefier of a linkage bar. That was one of the reasons I "upgraded" a couple years back. Also the reason I was glad to see that it remained the same. Can pretty much drive no hands on the straight roads. Auto pilot.

That's just what the service manager told me ... Ugh ... How can you be the service manager and not know every detail? I worked in service for over four years after getting my degree in automotive technology. We always knew what was going on.

Mine is an 08' & it has the old y-style. Build date is 11/07. I think build dates of 6/08 & up have the new T-style.

Was just at the dealer yesterday. They said what others have been hearing, that the first batch of parts for the recall was no good so a second batch has been ordered and I am still on the list. They did do a full inspection of the front end at no charge to provide some level of peace of mind.

Got the oil changed this morning and I'm now #350 on the waiting list for the recall. When I asked how long before parts would be in the guy rolled his eyes and laughed. Apparently this won't be happening for a while.
