Mine came with one too, but it sits safely tucked behind the bumper. I love being able to park the truck in my garage when it's snowing and cold outside.TwinStick wrote:verdesardog wrote:I can tell it's a Cummins, looks like the block heater is plugged in.
LOLI have one of those on my Hemi Power Wagon. Everyone thinks it is a diesel !!! LOL

Re: PW Chase Vehicle Build By NEO
Been no progress this week. Had a hell of a start.
Monday morning took the truck to get an alignment. Drove around a bit. Seemed ok but drove weird. Checked tire pressures as i normally run 55/50. They inflated to 60/70!!! And the tire itself is max 65psi!! So fixed that. Drove around a bit. Seemed way better. So kept on. Fast forward to 8 pm. I just had gotten groceries. Had to make a sharp turn and BANG!! Tie rods broke. 3 of 4 completely. Nylon bushing ripped out and rubber gone. Instead of aligning the tie rods perpendicular they tightened them down 60-70 degrees to each other. So they broke. Was a horrible drive home as I live an hour out from the city. Next morning i went in to bring it back. They wanted me to leave truck. I couldn't as i use the truck every day for work. I was friggin madder then the devil in a ice age. Left there. Bought a upper tie rod off the pitman as that one had 100% play. Replaced that in the parking lot at a well known coffee shop and had to carry on. It's still really bad and driving on the highway really leaves you with sore arms. The next really bad and i mean bad is the left outer tie rod. And the reason i haven't changed it... It's the Chrysler recall part. I have it on order to be replaced at dealership. So all in all very pissed but whatever. Tie rod ends don't last forever but they don't all fail at the same time in a bang. The shop that did the alignment is trying to work with me but i just joint know how much I can trust them right now. Some of the guys are good but whoever did this to my truck is lucky i haven't seen him face to face. They have offered to fix i said no. Lesson learned

Alright boys. Today is the day for the rear axle. I convinced a buddy to come help me take the box off. And gonna tear into the rear end. I'll make sure to take some pictures. Here we go
Also my track bar is completely toast. Gonna see if the powerwagon one fits and if so hope it will last until I can afford the carli replacement

Re: PW Chase Vehicle Build By NEO
Just finished taking her for a spin. The power is retarded now. Gonna have to turn down the tuner. Doing 110 on the gravel its easy to spin the tires to 130. I mean it likes to spin the tires. Big change in cruising rpm. 105 used to be 1500 rpm. Now its 1600rpm for 95kph. Was worried heard a huge clunk in the front end. All worried. Ended up being the hood was popped. Doh!! Have some tie rods to fix up yet the. Should be good to go. The back is now taller than the 2500 diesel with carli add packs. And way way smoother. Only thing left now is front driveshaft hookup and wire up the lockers. I'd say this has been a successful endeavour.

Re: PW Chase Vehicle Build By NEO
No I'm gonna run them straight through. By next winter should be half tread and ill sipe them like crazy. Have to stud the tires when new. No option there. May buy a second set come fall if funds allow though and make them the winter ones. I know that negates the point of studding right now but i don't want to take the chance

Re: PW Chase Vehicle Build By NEO
Same trimming i had to do on my old powerwagon. And there is no rubbing on control arms or sway bar so im haply

Re: PW Chase Vehicle Build By NEO
Nice...factory control arms? ...would a set from Thuren and etc..help to avoid the trimming while centering the axle..or we must add lift also...I like the way she sits

Re: PW Chase Vehicle Build By NEO
Factory control arms sort of. I don't know how much of a difference but im using the pw lower arms with the diesel upper. Also when I swapped the track bars cause the diesel was shot with the powerwagon it moved the axle. I noticed because i had to re Center my steering. Also looked a hair longer side by side. Realistically i am now the height of you guys. Any taller isn't worth it. Tires are what give you the real ground clearance.
