Hello everyone,
As some of you know I've been struggling to get my winch working.... I bought this brand new control unit part# 05161036AA which comes with the battery cables and entire control assembly for your winch. I tore down my winch and found my motor rotted through and the frame of the winch having a huge oxidized hole rotted through were the motor installs on to. I'm done trying to fix this winch and i'm just going to order a new one in the Spring. Dealer is giving me a hard time trying to return it as it's a special order part.... I'm asking $300 or b/o and will pay for shipping. For pictures click the link below!

Leo, I haven't been following your issue but did you try bypassing the TPS?

Hey there the previous owner did and I just double checked his work. When I tore the winch down there was a massive rot whole on the side of the winch motor were the steel straps go around to secure the control module. So the motor is shot in addition to the original control module being a big wiring mess and rust lol. I then removed the motor and there was a huge chunk of oxidation under the motor, the frame support of the winch was literally scrapping away. It's like this guy through the winch into the freaking ocean.... That's why i'm selling this brand new control module as it's not worth putting anymore money into this winch. The dealer won't let me return it as it's a special order part =/pdavey wrote:Leo, I haven't been following your issue but did you try bypassing the TPS?

I had to get another winch too... if you dont want to spend the $$$ for a mopar warn, which is double the price of an off the shelf one, I went with a Warn VR12000 and It was $600 to my door .The only thing is you need to mount the winch upside down from a normal mount so it lines up with the factory rollers on the top of the spool rather than underneath. Also I had to mount the soleniod pack elsewhere because there wasnt enough room with the cooler lines running near the motor.

Thanks for the info I think I remember you talking about that from another post. I will keep that option open I know right now you can get a Mopar winch for the same price on average of a Warn M15000 so at least there prices have gone down to reasonable levels lol. Granted there are still some companies trying to get $1800.00 good luck with that....jeep_boy02 wrote:I had to get another winch too... if you dont want to spend the $$$ for a mopar warn, which is double the price of an off the shelf one, I went with a Warn VR12000 and It was $600 to my door .The only thing is you need to mount the winch upside down from a normal mount so it lines up with the factory rollers on the top of the spool rather than underneath.
