Someone explain this to me

Someone explain this to me

Hey guys, I am kinda perplexed at something. So I need to replace my steering gearbox, and power steering pump. I ordered the badass upgraded Borgesson Gearbox and new Steering shaft. My problem is that I called the dealer in regards to an OEM PS pump, and they want over 700 dollars for it!!! (Including res. and pulley). I found an aftermarker PS Pump for about 75 bucks. What am I missing here? What Power Steering pump should I get? Because I don't feel like being raped at the dealer.

The $700 one is the new upgraded version and you need the new reservoir and pulley because the old one isn't interchangeable. Did this upgrade on my truck 7 months ago.

U can still find a few old style rebuilt pumps around but they have had a ton of problems with them. Kinda pricy but at least I should have any more issues. I use my front locker a bunch and really puts a lot of stress on steering components.

I just dropped 900 for the Gearbox and Steering shaft. Whats another 700 right? Uugghhh. I knew MOPAR upgraded the gearbox a couple years ago, but I didn't know they upgraded the PS pump as well? I am hoping to make Moab this May so I gotta be mechanically sound!

I think the big Dodge dealer in Idaho sells parts way below list price. Don't remember the dealer's name but shouldn't be too hard to find because nobody lives in Idaho.

When I replace my steering pump with the new one a few years ago it was $495 delivered. Think I got it from wermopar.com
