Resurrecting this thread. I am not sure what is going on with my truck. Just a string of unrelated issues.
I have a clunking coming from the front passenger side of the truck when I turn the wheels side to side from center. I can feel it on the tire and sounds like it may be a steering linkage, bit thought I would see what the group thought. Could it be a linkage, u-joint?
It doesn't take a lot to make the noise and it seems loudest from center to the left but clunks as you pass left and right it seems, but it is only one clunk............

My moneys says u-joint, tie rod end, ball joint (all the weight is on the bottom ball joint), trac bar bushing or possibly a unit bearing: in that order.

I'm going another direction to check out. I know you have Thuren control arms, but if the bolt was to loosen any little bit, you will get some 'slop' where the bolt goes through the lower arm, and it'll pop or clunk sometimes. Does it do it at all while moving or applying your brakes?

Among the long list, including the blinker fluid, check out the bearings in the glove compartment hinges. I hear they're prone to failure.

So I finally was able to take some time to troubleshoot the problem. Appears the clunking is coming from my track bar. I lifted the truck up and tightened the track-bar to spec, plus greased it and it is still happening. I have the Thuren track-bar so I am going to email Don and see if he has any suggestions. Sounds like the joint might be too loose. Will keep you all posted.

Sounds like a loose or wrong size crush sleeve. It maybe the bushing was the wrong size. I had the sane problem with my Carli. Finally got the right one. I wound up drilling the hole out for a 16mm setup, got a new bolt kit from Chrysler, and put close to 275-300 on the bolt, per Russ' recommendations.

Don also seems to think the bolts aren't tight enough. Based on how much you tightened yours down Ace, mine isn't even close. I am only at 150ftlbs per the spec in the FSM. The oddest thing is that it wasn't doing it until about a month ago, so something was keeping it tighter. Sounds like I will be back out in the garage this weekend tightening the bolts

My Thuren tracbar also clunks. Bushing at the frame end is worn out (45K miles on it). I'm replacing the bushing today actually. Frame end bolt is torqued to roughly 200ft./lbs. and it still moves when I grab the bar and wiggle it back and forth. Don recommends replacing the bushings roughly every 40K miles. Figure I can have my bushing replaced in under 10 min

Well I tightened the bolts to 200 ft lbs and it still clunks so it may be the bushings. I sent Don an email to get his thoughts as well.

It's probably the bushing. After my truck gets out of the transmission shop I'm swapping the bushing out.
