That’s a slick way to shoehorn that monster in there!!!Low_Sky wrote: ↑Fri Mar 16, 2018 9:32 pmI know this thread is old, but here's how I just mounted mine in a RamBox truck. Took the jack apart to its major pieces: jack bar, foot (replaced the bolt with a 1/4" pin), handle (replaced the cotter pin with a single leg snap button), and running gear. I built plywood dividers and a jig to hold the jack bar and handle. The handle's held on with Quick Fist clamps, and the jack bar is on 1/2" bolts with wing nuts.

Nobody ever forgets their recovery gear on a shelf in their garage. Particularly if it stays in the truck.

A good checklist and pre-trip inspection goes a long ways!
(Going through a checklist for the moto for a ride tomorrow... helmet, gloves, boots, radio(s), camelbak, FAK... batteries charged? Oil change good? Bike fuel'd? Coolant check'd?
I forget a lot of things, but I don't "forget things" with a checklist+pretrip! )

Re: Hi lift jack ideas
What are you using as lift-points on the PW and what do you expect to achieve with that Hi_lift?

Re: Hi lift jack ideas
In a pinch you can use the front tow hooks. I've done it, I wouldn't get under the truck but to change a tire or get the tire out of a hole, id do it again.
Also the rear hitch would work.
Or get one of those wheel straps.

Re: Hi lift jack ideas
I wish I had a set of MOPAR factory rock rails installed to lift from. Instead, I have the lift-mate wheel strap, bumper lift, off road base, winch kit, etc. I like the idea of it being capable of being used as a spreader. The Jackmate allows me to pry open a car door like a can opener, if necessary.

Re: Hi lift jack ideas
If you have rock sliders, they are good lift points for a HiLift.
If you get the “Lift Mate” wheel lift kit, it’s great for lifting one corner to place a traction board or rocks to fill a hole you’re stuck in, even without rock Sliders. Same concept if you need to break suction of a stuck vehicle framed out in mud/ice.
You can use the instability of the jack to its advantage to “cast off”...jacking it up and pushing or driving off the jack to reposition a vehicle. This isn’t for beginners/faint of heard though, as it can be dangerous if done wrong.
Hilift can also be used to press bearings, break tire beads, and It can be used as a winch in a pinch (slow, not much travel before having to reset)
I think the bigest misconception is HiLifts are for changing tires on lifted vehicles.... they are not! They CAN be as a last resort, but the MUCH SAFER route is to use the (stock) bottle jack under the axle and a 4x4 block of wood to gain the extra height if needed.
