New from California

Post by cdffireboy » Sun Mar 22, 2020 12:25 pm

Howdy ya all. Finaly pulled the plug on a very low milage (4400) 2017 pw back in December after being a window licker for 5 or so yrs. Absolutely love this truck, coming from a 2004 chevy 2500.

My son named her the honey badger after hearing the power wagon dont care. .lol. honey badger dont care. Initially I wanted the ram boxes and no sunroof. Well this truck had a sunroof and no ram boxes but was to good a deal to pass up with the low miles. Glad to find this forum. Look forward to learning all I can about these trucks.

Mods so far are. Afe catback exhaust, Afe cold air intake. Alpha obd for the DRLs and foglights. Full LED bulb swap out on low, high and fog lights. Future plans are to do 35s, heavy duty front and rear bumpers, swapping out the amp power steps for a fixed slider style , hopefully in the next week or 2 I'll be working on installing all my communications equipment

Nice! What part of CA?
I was between L.A. and Santa Barbara recently and didn't see another Powerwagon in 4 days. People did seem a little more respectful on the freeway though...

Any details on the LED swap? The web is woefully low on info and/or real world feedback for quality LED conversions in these projector units. Sharp truck, and welcome!

Central valley. I live in madera. Just north of Fresno. But I work in the monterey area, not a whole lot of power wagons in this state, I think some part do to the high cost of fuel. But they are out there. I know of 3 others that are out in my community. One being a half mile down the road from me

So the LEDs I went with were these from Amazon. I tried several different sets and did a lot of research before I finally purchased these. Biggest thing is making sure the diods are at the 3 and 9 when mounted , so far I absolutely love them, make a huge difference on the light output and I'm not blinding oncoming traffic.

And these for the fogs.
