Abel Components Locker Bypass® $450

Abel Components Locker Bypass® - $450
Yes, this is the current model of locker bypass that is being offered for 2005-2018 Power Wagons. It bypasses the brains in the SmartBar and gives you direct control of the lockers. It’s basically a plug and play hardwired locker system using the O.E. dash knob to control it. This system responds instantly in any transfer case range. If your dash knob is capable of illuminating the indicator lights (flashing or not) and your magnetic actuators are functional in the front and rear axle, this system will work. This system does not hinder the throttle response like the first generation of locker bypass did.

I’m asking $450 for this item, plus shipping. It comes with a money back guarantee if you’re not satisfied, just return it for a refund within the first 30 days. Private message me here or email me at AbelComponents@yahoo.com if you’re interested.

I currently have enough supplies to make about 15 of these, with more on order. There is typically a two week lead time for new orders. Please keep in mind that I'm just one person building these units in my spare time, so thank you for your patience.

A portion of the sale of these items will be donated to the “Power Wagon Registry” at the end of each month, to help offset hosting costs and for providing a platform for this project.

So I’m next up already? Sweet! Do you want PayPal or what? I also am interested in purchasing the Nanny Kill Switch at the same time. You could market that as the “F@ck You Big Brother (FUBB)” capability unlock set... 😆

Is there still room on this list? If not is there a second one being generated? Thanks in advance

Updated the first post, your name is on the list.
I appreciate it (I have a 2015). Two more questions, how do I pay, and can I combine this with your kill switch? Again, thanks.

Yes, I’ll PM you before I build your unit to find out if you want a disable switch, or other particulars like a 12” lift that would require longer harnesses. Then a second PM when it’s finished and time to pay, followed by a third PM with your tracking number.

I forgot to follow-up that I have received my kits from BLM and it looks pro! I’m excited to find the time at some point this winter to do the install! I just need to convince the wife to let me use her heated garage spot since a broken Jeep currently sits in mine... 🤔

Jeeps should sit outside. Especially when they are broken.

I would do local pick up, but there’s 16 other people on the waiting list that might have something to say about that.

The locker bypass waiting list has officially come to an end. I'm finally caught up with all the requests. I have one on the shelf and I'll build a couple more so I can offer immediate delivery. All I can say is... the last six months have been extremely busy!

Quick question..... What if the factory smartbar is bad? Will this bypass the whole thing? I'm currently getting all kinds of traction control, service electronic braking system warnings on my 2016. I have the smartbar unplugged for the lockers and swaybar (all warning lights have stopped). I'm just curious if using this will keep me from having to replace the whole thing.

I had my abs and traction lights go on and off also. I pulled the fuse and saw some oxidation on the pins. Cleaned it off and reinstalled the fuse. No more lights for me.

Unfortunately, already tried all of that.... It's a little more serious (expensive) then a fuse

Ah okay, if you want to go the cheaper solution, you can take off the smartbar electronics and install a manual disconnect for the sway bar like Jeeps have. (evo disconnect) Or a air operated swaybar disconnect from the same company. Then get the abel locker bypass. This is the route i'm going if my swaybar ever craps out on me.

This one only bypasses the locker part of the system, but I just developed a new system that removes the factory SmartBar module completely and replaces it with a “Full SmartBar Bypass”, all controlled from the O.E. switches. I’ve been so busy I haven’t had time to start a new thread. It’s a combination of this locker bypass and the new electric sway bar disconnect I’ve been working on. I just finished a 3rd Gen unit for a customer with a dead system and I’m building the first 4th Gen unit.

It requires a completely different control box and wire harness layout, so it’s completely different than the Locker Bypass that this thread is about. There’s a picture of the new control box in the thread titled “Locker Bypass Improvements”.

There’s already a waiting list, I’m working as fast as I can.
