Rusty,,,kids buying the homestead, we got a very nice 38’ travel trailer & set it up & live in it full time on the property w the plan I hat we’d start taking the new home down to the sun & warmth for a month or so,during the winter once a year,,,,we have a smaller TT weusefor our local trips
Anyhow, a friends neighbor was selling his 2015 Ram Tradesman. He had upgraded the engine & suspension when he bought it so it’s a 6.4L, 4WD, towing package, can tow 13,200 #. He’d towed an 8,500# TT once a year for their snow bird trips,,,,then the rest of the mileage was mostly highway travels. We wound up buying it & will probably start some shorter snowbird trips for 3 weeks/ month each year, park the home and spend some time checking surrounding areas w friends. We used to go w them once in awhile with our 7,500# w Mule but was while we were working,,,so we’re excited for that.
Yes, if it’s ok w all will still check in,,PW is In my blood,,,,has gotten much quieter but truly enjoy the forum,,,wish we could afford to keep Mule,,,love that rig! Thanks for checking in!

Damn Mule…you’re one of the founders. Hate to see the old PWR crew breaking up. People slowly disappearing from here, me included. I sorta stopped checking in as much when I stopped doing all the mods to my ‘14, guess I had nothing to talk about anymore. I should’ve checked in more. Best to you & the new adventures waiting for you.

I check in daily after work to see if anyone has posted something new.

Wife and me thought about full timing. We had a 41ft diesel pusher. Once it got over 60,000 miles on it. It started to nickle and dime us to death. Then I had to dump over $12,000 into the motor. Plus $4,000+ for 6 tires. Then we dumped it. That ruined me for that idea. Good luck with your full timing.

REVISED 02/01/2025: Sorry David, re-read my initial response & saw I had not answered your question,,,hope this does,,,
 Head gasket & cylinder seals leaked & antifreeze/moisture was in the oil. Mechanic would not rebuild the top end due to mileage (174,800+/-) Decided the new Jasper remfgd 5.7 hemi was best route forward. We returned it to them as part of the replacement,,,they were able to give us a credit once they had checked it over,,,the replacement is running strong.wIth 57K miles on it,,,installed in Jone 2020,,,,& I used the credit to have my lockers R& R’d and replace the front U& L ball joints. About the time you were helping me find one of the last actuators if my recall is accurate,,,,👍

:patriot: David,,,When we installed the new engine we replaced the alternator, fuel pump, water pump, radiator& AC systems, pinion gear, went through the front end bushings, replaced the front tire upper & lower ball joints, bushings, replaced the front & rear locker actuators, serviced, drained & replaced all the fluids.
Also changed my regular service interval to 3,000 miles & have the transmission checked service. Had 231,117 when we sold her & all that was wrong was disconnectedd the A/C bcuz fan bearing was going out. Revealed that fo buyer,,' Suspect somewhere down the line a transmission issue may arise but NP evident b4 we sold Mule. :cash: :cash:

So my suspicions are the normal stuff is routine,,,depending on restorations you’ve. done,,,the biggies in my mind would be transmission, front rear differentials ,,electrical components that control coolant, fuel or things like that.
Loved Mule,,,restored as we went,,,my age , her low tow capacity, coupled w our new Home-Venture Sporttrk touring trailer weight (11,200 loaded) is why we sold her. Person that bought her was happy.

My son in laws were shocked, they used to say “the only thing 2005 on Mule is body & date of manufacture”, Will SORELY miss her. But we are excited for. Our next new adventures w Magnolia ! Good luck my friend. Your knowledge, experience, products, & willingness to help the forum is much appreciated!
