Towing advice
Greetings; question: Curious what the opinions/ concern/ advice are for my friend who is thinking of a’14 PW Laramie w/ 6.4L w a 4.10 rear end on BFGoodrich 285/70R17 MT(?) tires. Their trailer is +/- 7600# loaded trailer they would be pulling. Have heard the Laramie PW is a heavier truck! Told them I would ask. Thanks in advance.

The tires would be my first concern. I didn't find a BFGOODRICH in that size that was D rated - looks like they are C or E in that size - but I may have missed a tire...
Assuming the tires are not an issue, the Laramie wont have a problem with a 7600# trailer. If it's a camper, he should use a load distributing hitch...

My 16 Laramie PW is on 37s and I tow 8500lb trailer. It's fine. It's NOT a diesel but it's fine if you know what to expect. Power band on gas is at about 4600 rpms so it grunts more on hills but i can still pass trucks doing 80 etc.

Your friend will be fine. I've been pulling a trailer on three different tire sizes all over the place with my 2015 PW Laramie. With a family of 4 loaded up.
The stock D range Durtracs are pretty soft and squishy.
I was about 7000lbs during this photo, stock Duratracs:

The truck tows best with the stock tire size. That being said, I upgraded to a 35 inch Toyo Open Country AT/II after that, E range, a little bit heavier, but on level ground, you never noticed it at all. The 35's are the best size if you tow a lot in my opinion. It doesn't hamper your towing like the 37's will. Plenty of mountain passes with 35's.

I'm now towing on 37's, back in the D range.

Still no real issues. But the 37's make a noticeable feel/difference in power when towing. Even loaded up, when driving up passes that are over 7k feet, you feel the difference with the 37's vs the others. I didn't notice much of a difference going from 33's to 35's. But the 37's I have noticed the most.
I'll be regearing eventually here. But all around, I still manage with the 37's.

Thank you for the feedback; are the rear ends in a Laramie all 4.10? Also checked and the tires are Firestone! Appreciate the input
but we have 35’s w @4.56 w no problems !

All 4.5 gen power wagons have 4.10's. Its not an issue with stock size tires. But yea, 4.56's would certainly be a warm welcome back!

Supposedly they dropped it when they added the extra gear in the transmission. Who knows. Rumor mill is 2020 HD's are getting an all new 8-speed.
4.10's are not an issue. All 6.4 motors or 4.5 gen's have the 4.10 gears.
Hasn't been an issue. Like I said, it's more noticeable going up to 37's. I'm going to 5.13's here when I get up to the secret Maple Wagon shop.

If I change it'd be to 4.88s I think... but that is far from certian. Sometimes I'm in 2nd gear at 4600 rpm pulling hills. But I'm doing that at like 75 passing semi trucks. It's kinda what gears are for. If i was doing 35 or 40 in 2nd gear like my gramps old International pulling the boat with a camper on used too i'd be more inclined to regear.
But that's only since I went 37s. 35s were completely fine. At 37s you start to notice the breaks and the gears a bit more. It's not unmanageable but you notice.
