Gear shifter tight after loading and towing 8500 lb
Gear shifter tight after loading and towing 8500 lb
So yesterday loaded up a tractor and trailer, total weight about 8500lbs. Did not chock wheels and loaded with truck in park. When I went to drive away the gear shifter was very tight, and seemed to have no detents in it. The light moved appropriately on the gear indicator and the transmission seemed to work fine. What have I done and what does it take to fix? 2012 PW.

It's very important to always put on your emergency brake when you are in Park and may be putting excessive pressure on the transmission Park Pawl. I know after the fact this doesn't help you solve your current situation - sorry.
Try doing a reset by taking your battery cable off and reconnecting it - it is surprising how many issues this can fix. Any this will cause a "relearn" on your transmission behavior too. Edit: not even sure the 2012 transmissions did the computer learning...
