just put OBA on my truck, but am curious where various people located their air couplers & what you did to keep the dirt & grit out of them (i'm not wanting to mount the coupler under the hood & Due to my setup, the rear bumper is not a good solution).
I found this from Wits end https://absolute-wits-end.com/quick-con ... CI6MTE2fQ
& tried a Hydraulic cap but it was too loose https://hosewarehouse.com/products/57-0 ... gJO5_D_BwE
Air Coupler Protection
Re: Air Coupler Protection
I installed ARB air couplings with dust caps recently on both front and rear bumpers. Haven’t driven thru a snow storm or mud puddles with them yet, but the cap seems to seal very well. They stayed dry even at the car wash.
Side note about the ARB couplings: they are awesome. Much easier to use than standard couplings... Just push the male end in to insert, no need to pull the coupling back; and then to eject push the cooling and it spring ejects the male coupling

My buddy uses the rubber feet that go on the end of a walking cane. Figure out your outside diameter and grab them at a pharmacy or on Amazon. Slips right over the outside of the quick connect.

Re: Air Coupler Protection
I mounted my smittybilt compressor behind the grill in my 2018.
The coupler is strapped to my front tow hook. I had a cap on it for the first few hundred miles but the last 30,000 mi I haven't had anything on it. I use it almost monthly and I've never had an issue.
That ARB coupler is pretty slick I may upgrade.

Re: Air Coupler Protection
thanks for the replies. I was out of service for a bit. I ended up doing something similar to TommyG's response.
took a chair tip, drilled a hole at edge of the tip at a 45degr angle. threaded a keyring thru it & put a stainless cable from it to the coupler to make a leash for it.
it does fit very snug
