Great work. I'd take one for an 07 when they are plug and play

It's done for the most part. Just have to build the harness that goes back to the rear axle. Finished product will be fully wrapped in wire loom and the wires coming out of the box will be cover in shrink tubing and will go through a cord grip to keep it water tight.

Thanks for all the feedback guys!

I'll start off with the bad news (not so much bad but a change in original design). While testing in the driveway last night the sensing circuit isn't going to work like expected. Why Dodge feels they need to use complex circuitry for the sensors is beyond me. I was assuming they were a simple open and close set of contacts when the locker operated but that's not the case. It's not going to be feasible to get the real time sensing operational. I really don't want to get into designing and building custom circuit boards just for some LED's. What I am going to do is tie the LED's into the locker circuit so the lights will illuminate whenever the lockers get power. This will at least tell you that the locker is getting power.

I got the wire harness ran for rear axle and went out for some testing. I was very impressed with the speed of lockup. Both axles locked up almost instantly. You can feel the front in the steering when locked. Overall, I'm very happy and excited about this mod.

So, if we're cool with the LED functionality, I will order parts and get to building. If anyone on the list doesn't want the kit because of this change, I fully understand. I was doing some thinking this morning and a typical locker (electric or air) doesn't have real time status sensing so this is no different than a typical locker setup.

Thanks for all of your hard work on this mod! I'm ok with the LED function, I'll just be happy to have lockers that engage when they are needed.

I'm in too. Just happy to be able to fix my flashing rear locker light and give my truck back the option that I originally bought it for.

Full parts list is finally completed (lots of parts and 8 suppliers) and it looks like I can do these for $250 shipped in the US. Members outside the US shoot me your address and I'll get you the shipping adder. I'll order everything this week and start building as soon as all the parts come in.

Just so I understand what your saying- the light will come on when the locker get's power, but not when the locker is actually "locked." We'll have to go by feel at that point?

I just want to make sure I understand 100% (I'm a little slow on Monday).

That is correct. The front is easy to tell, you can feel it in the steering wheel instantly.

Very nice! God job!

The fact that it is non invasive and can be removed without any OEM wire modifications is a great feature.

I have a question...
Would it be possible you to make or provide an extension pigtail for the lockers F&R and ABS for the rear? Possibly 6" long so as to allow for more droop in my case or more lift for others? Even better would be a female plug on one end and a male on the other end, so no cutting of wires would be required.

The locker extensions would be simple since I already have all the required part numbers. I could make it an extension harness that would plug in between the factory plug and the axle, no cutting required. With the kit I am making the harnesses will be about the same length as stock. I'll have a little more slack but nothing crazy, don't want a bunch of excess wire to deal with. I can make it longer if requested though, I just need to know early on.

The ABS shouldn't be a big deal either, I'd just need to do some research to get the correct plugs.

If you get a minute, could you snap some pics of the male and female connector for the ABS?

My intention is to bundle the brake line, vent line and wire harness all together to add support to the harness as the place it attaches to the axle is a weak point on these if you flex or cycle the suspension frequently. By doing this you force it to flex over a longer radius and with the vent and brake lines as a support as it were. I will need to droop it all out and check the length I need to be sure but I think an extra 6" will be fine for my needs.

Yes I will take a photo tomorrow if someone does not beat me to it. I will post it in its own thread if a Mod has not already started one and moved these off topic ones for us by then (hint hint :secret: )

LOL

This is all certainly doable as long as I can get the connectors. There are some Chinese made connectors that I can't get, unless I buy 5000 directly from China. :poke:

Everything has been ordered! I made a last minute change to the way the harnesses will enter the box. I had planned on using a cable gland but thought it was worth the extra money to use a panel mount Molex connector. This will make building them and installation much easier and provide better water tightness.
