Blinking Rear lock light - Solved -
Blinking Rear lock light - Solved -
Not sure if anyone else has had this same issue but on my 2018 Power Wagon I had an blinking orange light that would come on after about 1 min after running that would blink constantly on the rear lock indicator. The orange unlocked indicator would stay solid. Tried the rear locker one time but no engagement.
Instead of replacing the rear differential lock solenoid/ position sensor I would recommend dropping the spare tire and inspect the wiring harness going from the driver's side rear spring that goes to the rear differential. Noticed that the loom looked like it had been chewed up by gravel or branches.
Found a corroded and damaged section of the wire. I cut it back further away from the corrosion and spliced in new wire. Used bare connectors with slices of heat shrink. Used a heat gun rather than a lighter since it was so close the fuel tank.
Wrapped it up with new loom and electric tape. ran it the same pathway as i found it an doesn't seem to be rubbing against the spring. While I had spare tire off removed the rear differential electrical connector and blew it out with an air nozzle and installed again with so dielectric grease.
Blinking light went out immediately and rear lock works.- Mule007
