I have a 2016 Ram Powerwagon Laramie with 111,000 miles. It’s been the best vehicle I’ve ever owned. I’ve been running Cooper Discoverer STT Pro’s 285/70r17. I’m considering going to 35’s with my original wheels. According to Coopers website, the 315/70r17 will work. Has anyone done this? Will I notice a big change with gearing or gas mileage? Will I have any rubbing?

Re: Running 315/70r17 on 2016 Powerwagon
I'm running 35s on my 2016. The 315/70 setup is very similar. Fitment wise I had 0 rub. The gearing could be better. It does tend to lug around town, especially up hill. The rpms drop too low and until they build up or you lay harder into the pedal it doesn't wanna move. Mileage I lost about 2mpg, I avg 12-13 overall. The look of 35s over 33s or factory 285 is night and day tho. I have modified the truck best I could without re gearing just yet. The truck has plenty of power, dont get me wrong, just a little annoying having to open it up and roar it all over town.My opinion may be a little tainted as I daily drive a cummins on 35s. Totally different animal and sets me back when I get into the wagon. I have learned to live with the shortcomings of the 35s and I would never go back. Too many positives over negatives in my opinion.

Using a tuner/programmer will recalibrate your speedo and bring your transmission shift points back into their proper range and you'll recover some of that lost MPG and performance. These trucks look anemic until their wheel wells get filled with rubber. 315s/35s are the first step in the addiction.
