Code 84

Post by 2k5PW » Tue Oct 13, 2020 1:50 pm

Anyone and everyone with an 05 SLT Power Wagon!!

If you would be so kind as to give me the numbers for your ACU (abs module) for your truck. Found out that the nice gentleman previous owner replaced the unit with one of the wrong numbers. Now figuring out after the VIN mismatch code that this is what happens when you use one with the wrong numbers. After the numbers there are two letters. These letters make no difference but the numbers are what matter. I have to buy another one, unfortunately, and don't want the same mistake made. These cannot be reprogrammed/flashed (from all my gathered info) with the correct VIN number by anyone, including dealer.

I appreciate your help in helping me chase the plague of ghosts I have in my electrical system.

I should also add that the main reason I need the numbers is to identify if the module actually WAS changed incorrectly or I need to start chasing wires. Either way I'm confident I'll get it figured out with a bit of help. I had noticed clusters of "new" ground wires added by previous owner to obviously correct a ground problem that I believe will be the actual issue if the numbers check out.

Thanks again, folks.

Not many '05's on here any more. That's why you didn't get any replies. It's mostly 4+G's now.
