Hi, looking to see if anyone else has experienced a super fast read wear with the ko2 tire? I have about 9/32 left on mine at 6500 miles . I talked to someone at BFG and they told me they more than likely will not do anything about this as they tires are not totally worn out.

Lots of factors impact the wear. First and foremost is tire pressure - the lower the pressure the faster the wear. Next, slight mis-alignment on the KO’s or KO2’s will quickly trash their edge tread even with high tire pressures. I’ve ran 4 sets of KO2’s on other vehicles and saw fast uneven wear even with several alignments and 8000 mile rotations. I have moved away from those BF Goodrich tires

KO2’s don’t do well under heavy vehicles like these. That is oddly fast, make sure you’re running enough pressure in your tires and you aren’t overheating them.

Little update, got the tires checked at the installer and seems that the tread depth (tires were rotated recently front to rear so tire locations are going to be given at previous to current positions) fronts 11/32 both tires, rear one was 14/32 and the other 12/32. The other issue is the fact all tires are showing extreme cupping. I run the air pressures around 2-3 lower than the sticker on the door to allow for pressure increase when driving. The interesting part of this is the installer shop claims to never have heard of the "DT" variation of this tire (50,000 tread wear warranty) . I am now waiting to see what if anything BFG is going to do about this.

Cupping is caused by alignment. Follow Thuren's alignment specs for the best results. FWIW, I have 4 years and 35K on my KO2's and still counting.

Hey BLM ,I would settle for that kind of milage. Got the offer today from BFG , they will give me 60% for a good will because they don't have a tread wear warranty and this is not a workmanship or material problem. They really no how to stand behind their product when they know this issue of poor wear exists. Going to see of the tire dealer can work something out to get me another brand of tires that actually are worth the price.

I work for Discount Tire. Over a year ago I talked with some of the guys at my local store, and they said they highly discourage KO2's for heavy truck applications due to rapid wear. Not sure if Michelin (BFG) has changed the formulation any since then. I just switched from two year old General X3's to Nitto Ridge Grapplers. No complaints with the X3's and too soon to tell on the Nitto's.

I know this is an older post but just joined. I ran two sets of KO2's on my previous Chevy 2500HD 6.0 gas truck. Both sets were 285/75R16 D-rated. First set was mounted on the stock 6.5" (skinny) wheels and ran 50 psi front and 40 psi rear. They had around 50,000 miles on them when I took them off, they were well worn but were not bald by any means. I could have ran them a little longer but found a deal on a set of the exact same tires mounted on 8" wide aftermarket wheels that had less than 5,000 miles on them. These tires had around 30,000 miles on them when I sold the truck and had decent tread on them. I had also ran a couple sets of BFG Mud-Terrains on other trucks with good luck. A friend had a set of 35" KO2's on his '06 Dodge Megacab Cummins and they had around 25,000 miles on them when he sold the truck and still looked good.
