I just bought new tires and decided to stay with the Toyo at2's, got 80K miles out of the last set and absolutely loved them (LT285/70/17) and after reading through allot of the reviews and all I figured on staying with what worked. I wanted to go up a size and went to the 35x12.5x17's what a difference. Really like just about everything about them except for how loose the truck feels now. The shop set the pressure at 65psi, what is everyone running them without a load? I also pull a 33' camper what pressures do you guys stick with while towing, and is the looseness gonna be that much worse or is there a remedy for that, no I dont really want to go back down a size.
Thanks

BoldAdventures will chime in I am sure, as he ran this same size AT2 and towed a lot. Maybe they get better after some miles?
Maybe the 285/75/17's would have been a better option? Just a touch skinnier and shorter than the 35x12.5. Regardless, I think you made a wise decision on your set of tires. You should love them.

When I first installed the Toyo 35" MT's. They was squirrely for about 500 miles. Then they settled down. Drop your air pressure down. No load, you're running on the center of the tires.

Re: 35" Toyo at2's
I read that all the time.
Sometimes I just wonder if the driver gets used to the “feel”and chalks it up as “the squirminess goes away”. I mean, do the tires really change after driving a short period? Maybe.

It can take a couple hundred miles to wear off the release agent on new tires. The release agent does reduce traction and breaking some - but I've never heard it have an impact on responsiveness / "squirminess".
The same tire with full tread always feels less responsive than a shaved tire or significantly worn tire at the same pressure.
I agree with olyelr, the driver accepts the new ride feel as the new norm!
