cant wait to trash my rts quickly!....but i hear quickly and toyo dont go in the same sentence... i just wore off the raised tread surface

my 35/17s have been great for over 5k miles handle great in all conditions. wear is nice. with my experience and driving style, if i actually get to 12k miles with off road worthiness, i would be ecstatic.

Yeah, thats suuuper minor "damage", not worth losing any sleep over. You'll probably get rid of those tires from being bored of them and wanting a different size/look long before they're trashed. If I were closer I'd scoop them up and hang on to them! My 35's saw plenty of highway and trail time in mud, rocks, snow, sand etc. and were finally starting to show it. From my experience the RTs have been a great jack of all trades tire - they would likely slip in some scenarios where the MT may not, but I think they strike a good balance in highway/off road performance. I'm looking forward to seeing how the 37" flavor compares to the 35".

Did some trail riding today with the munchkin. Tires dig really well did 2 water crossings some icy frozen patches and some dirt trail climbing. No issues at all no slipping still want to do some further testing but since it’s muzzleloader season I couldn’t get down the trails without interfering with the hunters.





He was all smiles crossing the water. But wouldn’t put his fish down.

Opinions on Super Swamper IROK's? I had Suoer Swamper years ago on my '76 Cheby. My Toyo's are getting worn down. Look at maybe next spring for tires. Want to try something different. These are the ones I'm looking at.

I don’t have any experience with the irok radials, but I run the bias ply on my rock Jeep. They’re tough and grip like crazy. Loud as hell on pavement but decent at speed as far as grip and control. I’d be very curious to hear how they do in a radial

I had a set of these on my Cheby. Going down the highway. About 45 minutes, they would put you to sleep or drive you crazy from the noise.

I got to take my Cooper STT Pro's out yesterday for a little trip. They worked very well on gravel, rock, and a small amount of mud. I hit a few trails outside town, and I had a great day. The tires are very nice riding. They are a little stiffer than my Duratracs, but they are not noticeably noisier. I figured they would be noisy for such an aggressive tire. I hit some rocks on the sidewalls, and they did just fine.

I forgot to mention the size is 315/70/17. They look like they measure 34" on the stock rims. I added the Thuren short arms to fix my rubbing problem, and the truck is running great. My mileage has been about the same as it was on the stock tires. I also had it aligned to Thuren specs which seems to feel a little smoother on the road. Overall, I love these tires so far! I love the way they look, and the handling has been great. I am keeping my fingers crossed that they will do well in winter conditions including ice.

The STT was my first 35" tire. I liked them. They're a good tire.

I've been running the Toyo RT in a 37x13.50x18 ever since the ODO read 2,500 miles. I am now at 11,700 miles and they have only lost 2/32 of tread. They are fairly quiet under 50mph and handle very similarly to the stock DuraCraps, above 60mph you hear them a little but the noise is nothing like a true MT. They do exceptionally well in sand, mad, and rocks, in rain I would rate them an 8/10 but still infinitely better than a few other tires I have owned in the past. Toyo claims a 40,000 mile warranty with these tires and so far I believe they will hit that number, I am just not so sure I will hang on until then lol.

Just got a set of 35x12.5x17 Falken Wildpeak AT3W’s. Cant wait to see how these are gonna work out. First impressions, though... at nearly 30 pounds more per corner and a few inches taller, a programer is certainly required. The truck is obviously a slight but more sluggish, as expected, but the shift points are not even workable. As in I dont even wanna drive it anymore till the tuner shows up. But holy hell, talk about silent, in comparison to a set of duratracs with 23k on them.

I think it was about 5 hours including dismounting and figuring it out for the first time. Machine siping would be worth the money for sure. I wanted to try the tool out since it does grooving too

I think it was about 5 hours including dismounting and figuring it out for the first time. Machine siping would be worth the money for sure. I wanted to try the tool out since it does grooving too

I did this on my Mickey Thompson MTZ’s five years ago. Didn’t really notice that much of a difference in snow and ice though it was better in rain for sure.

That IS the finished product you can’t really see the cuts. You can see the surface where it melted some from the copper element.

Oh gotchya, so you used a siper tool rather than actually grooving the tire.

I always figured a mud terrain tire with a bunch of sipes cut in it would almost be the best of both worlds.

Hankook Dynapro MT 35x12.50r17, studded and machine siped on the center lugs.

The Toyo CTs are a good all around winter tire, but the neighborhood I live in demands chains or studs in the winter, and I got tired of putting chains on all four corners just to leave the house some days.

The Toyo CTs are pinned for studs too, but if you’re doing studs and sipes, the differences between tires get watered down and it makes sense to go with the cheaper tire.

I can’t wait to see how these do off-road in the snow.

So I mentioned in my build thread, that I decided to switch to a dedicated snow tire this winter. Last year the Toyo MT’s where mhmmm in the snow. Not really horrid, but not good either. And pretty bad on ice and slush.

So I returned to a brand I’ve had in the past. Picked up the new General Grabber A/Tx this Wednesday and wouldn’t you know, perfect timing. It snowed this weekend.

This is a 37-inch AT and we drove 117 miles today and found snow, ice, and slush.

These tires are really grabby. Excellent traction and performance from today’s test. Leaps above the MT. They are a 3-peak severe snow service tire with full depth sipes. In moderate snow the truck tracks straight. These things have no pull. The MT's by comparison, if they got ahold of a snow on the edge of the road, they'd want to pull you into a ditch.

Great ice traction, improved stopping for sure.

Funny observation, WAY less rolling resistance than driving around on the heavy Toyo MT’s. Kind of feels like I went back to 35’s. Steers a little easier too.

Overall, still very new. But my first impressions are good.
