Hey ya'll

It's July 2019.

What's the biggest tire you can put on a 2018 Power Wagon without any rubbing, or issues?

How is the BFG KM3?

What wheels do I need to run 37" Toyos?

Thanks!

You can run stock wheels with toyo mt 37s. They rub at lock, but they are ok.

So when you say rub, what happens? Rubbing on drivers side sway bar?

What about Nittos?

Thank you!

Can you damage the sway bar or radius arm if you rub on it with 37s? Damage the tires? What’s the negatives?

No, I have no experience with this.

Yeah, I know how to use google. The forum seemed kind of dead regarding this question. The KM3 is new. Tires change. Different model years have slight variations.

Congrats on finally getting to use the LMGTFY though

I hope not. The drawback is that your turning radius gets bigger. But it saves $1250+ vs buying better sized wheels.

Are you running a lift or level on your truck?

How much more of a turn radius with the Toyo MTs you’re running on your ‘18

Stock. Not sure how much, but it’s a bit annoying, not a big deal.

Thanks for the info. Since it's my first run into Power Wagon land, I'm going to get Toyo 35s like the guy in the other thread, E rated too since I still tow.

Anyone seen any good prices on them online?

Purchased these Yokohama Geolander X-MT’s on July 5th and have been very happy. Seem just slightly louder than stock, but nothing obnoxious. They are the 35/12.5’s on stock wheels obviously.

Put on some 315/70R17 Toyo MTs today!
The truck still had the original BFGs on it and they were horrendous...I’m rubbing the upper control arm at full lock, so I’m going to be mounting Thuren control arms. The ride is a vast improvement over the BFGs. I have the pressure set at 42 psi front and 35 rear.

I don’t see many people using the Hankook Dynapro AT2’s. When I bought the truck it had Good Year Duratrash tires. I thought the truck was a drift king! No traction, rough ride, and loud. I do a lot of highway and really wanted something quieter. Bought the Hankook and was amazed by the traction and ride. They were so quiet. I pulled them after 40k miles and they still had about half tread left. Only reason for switching was I wanted 35’s. I bought another set in a 35” and couldn’t be happier. They are amazing on the highway and wet or deep snow. I really haven’t had them in the mud ( I try to avoid mud). Tons of siping and very stiff edges. I run 50 psi and it feels like a Cadillac (haha)! These tires have about 30k on them and still look new. These things wear like iron! Not sure why more people don’t use them.

I recently switched to Mickey Thompson Baja Boss ATs. Unfortunately, the only picture I have is from when I was chained up a week ago.

Tires are 3 Peak rated and seemed to have good snow performance. The chains were on for a particularly steep, slick hill (headed down). I likely didn't need them, but I don't mind playing it safe.

I'm glad I did a walk around at the tire shop before I left. They installed 3 ATs and a MT on the back driver's side.

Edited to add: tires are still new, but they are REALLY quiet for an aggressive lug.
