Thanks, Trouble Maker. I have a set of Toyo MTs, and they are loud, too. I'm not sure what to replace them with.

I heard nitto's mT was the loudest mud terrain besides a bogger....they look like they would vibrate pretty good down the road

I didn't know that. I may as well stick with another set of Toyo MTs. They did pretty well. I have about 30k on them now, and still have tread to go another 5k at least. The key is keeping the air pressure down and not following the requirements, otherwise the center lines get worn down to nothing.

I don't run them that low. I run 42/38 empty. Any lower, then it seems like it's all over the road.

I tried that. The seem a little squishy, if that's the word, while driving. Maybe because I do a lot of fast stop and go driving thinking my truck is a Nissmo? :-) :secret:

Squishy is good. So has anyone experienced toyo mt's in the snow? My tire guy actually surprised me and can get them for the same price as yoko geo ats's....?! I want them for a summer anyways and they look like their siped a bit more then the Mickey mtz I run. Freaky incident yesterday has me thinking new tires sooner then later ...:/

I've had my Toyo OC M/T through quite a number of snow storms. The deepest I had it in was about 28" when we had two storms back to back 5 days apart in late January and early February, 2010. I just bought them in the last week of Dec, 2009. Boy was I happy! I could NOT get stuck! I was like a kid playing around looking for un-plowed streets and parking lots. :D

And one of the pics is my John Deere 32" snow blower with a set of 55w halogens. :D

Just bought one of these from "ideal tire groovers" here's a link
http://www.idealtiregroover.com/product ... oover.html going to sipe my Mickey t' mtz's for winter tires and run toyo mt's on some method nv's for summer spring and fall.

can flip the groove edge over and run the blades "upside " down in order to give you 2 sipes per pass takes some time to do a 37" but apperantly the wet/snow traction improvement is outstanding. Also read it allows the tire to cool faster so it can actually allow for less premature tire wear. Also helps in rock crawling conditions. Anyways not a tire but maybe the answer to some guys issues with wanting an mt but also needing an at for their areas.

I've used them on jeeps, 'yotas, and now my Powerwagon, so it'll be interesting to see how they hold up. These are a 315/70/17, and I run them low for pressure, around 38 on the front, and 27-30 in the back, without a load, or towing. Yeah, they chuck rocks like nobodies business!! Can't disagree on that!! But I've always been pleased with them. That being said, when these are done, I wanna try duratracs, studded for my winter shoes.

I was reading through this thread, but I lost track of which tires you are referring to. Are they the Toyo AT, or the BFG KOs?

My Toyo MT OC 35x12.5 are coming up for replacement, and I'm trying to figure out what's best as a balance as a daily driver and off road & snow. I was simply thinking of getting the same thing. I'm also contemplating Nitto Trail Grappler M/T or Mud Grappler MT 35*12.5*17.
The BFG AT's.

BFG AT (~35s): (3 sets)
We all know about these. Decent tire, but I have not had a set stand up very long (I seem to wear them out quick) and not very good at anything besides normal DD use. Decent in lightly snow covered roads, but in deeper snow that I encounter often couldn't keep traction and dig thru. MPG's were pretty good as they are the lightest tire I have run.

BFG KM2's (35x12.50): (2 sets)
Decent pavement tire. Pretty sketchy in the slushy snow due to complete lack of siping but to be expected. Deep snow they pulled really good. Offroad in the mud I was pretty happy with them as they cleaned decent and had good forward bite as well as lateral stability. Again I wore a set out pretty darn quickly. Fairly light tire for a MT so mileage didn't suffer.

Toyo MT's (35x12.50): (3 sets)
Really good DD/pavement tire. Little sketchy in heavy slush conditions due to limited siping, and being a very wide tire (closer to 13" wide) they tend to try and float but its very controllable. Deep snow they pull as good or better than the KM2's. Offroad I find they are a very capable tire, but have a stiff sidewall so they don't flex all that much. In the mud I don't feel like they clean as good as the KM2s with no wheel speed, but clean well if you can get wheel speed up a little. Tire life has been excellent for me with these tires, way better then anything else I have run. I've run 2 sets right down to where they are slicks and they just keep on going (still have the first set I bought on my 87 W100). Downside is they are a very heavy tire so expect to loose a little mileage and power.

Hands down my favorite are the Toyo's and I have another set (will be the 4th set I've bought) going on my 2nd gen diesel tomorrow so I'll get to see how they are on a lighter truck with a whole lot more torque.

So, I am 2000kms into my new rubber.

35" fierce attitude MT's

So far I am happy they've seen heavy rain, heavy snow, slop, thick mud.

Road noise is minimal, seems the same as my old duratracs. 4.5oz of beads and no vibrations from 0-160km/h ( 100mph)

Rubs at full lock depending on the ground I am on, clean out very well and very fast.

So far after 2weeks with them, I'd say I'm happy, price was 1500 installed. Will keep everyone posted on longevity, as this makes the 3rd set of rubber in 74,000kms and 16months.

Anybody run the Falken Wild Peak A/T's? I was thinking of putting my stock BFG's on the wife's 2010 JKUR (they have 16,000 miles on them and 0 on the spare) and getting some Falken's. Any intel?

heard that they are really great offroad but I think don Thuren had some 37" falken wild peaks on his dodge and they had bad balance issues and such. Tread design looks great. Also dan Torino at Carli suspension is running them on his ford superduty I think in 35" with a slightly modified tread pattern they called their Moab tread or something and he absolutely loves them? Hope that helps lol conflicting! Sorry!

Thanks for the update. I'm still researching, I could get these for 240 a tire installed with free lifetime rotations. Pretty good around here. Just wanted to see if anybody has some real world knowledge.

Yeah I am.
I've run nothing but A/T's on all my trucks, BFG , Bridgestone , Kelly Safari , Firestone , Goodyear and Michelin. I'd have to say that the Michelins were the best so far. Michelin does not make a E rated tire in the size I wanted and I had read nothing but great reviews on the Falken's , so at a $1000.00 with everything included I gave them a shot. After about 6K miles I love 'em. They handle well , are smooth and very quiet, balanced easily. Time will tell on how long they last , but so far I couldn't be happier.
