how to fix axle hop? 2018 PFA

I have a 2018 PW and I noticed that when I am going up 20-30 ft sand dunes, the truck has a real problem with bouncing and hopping. Anyone know what this is and how to fix it? Is it the axles hopping? The more I press the gas the worse it gets to where the truck bucks like a horse.

First things first, what tire pressures are you running when doing this, and are you on stock rubber?

Others have added additional axle shocks which cuts the hop down significantly (but doesn't completely eliminate it in every scenario)

Run with your rear axle locked if you're on sand like in your picture A locker bypass kit makes that easy for higher speeds in 2 or 4wd.

And - super loose sand may warrant very low tire pressures

Yea, low tire pressure helps. As does larger tires with more sidewall. However, I dont think you can completely rid the truck of it... its just a trait of the suspension design and a super heavy truck. But yea, it sucks for sure. Annoying as hell. I have the same issue in the sand dunes as well as in snow.

I have never seen my truck do it where I can actually watch it happen (always in it driving lol), but I am pretty positive it is the axles hopping up and down, rather than the common “wrapping” or “twisting” that occurs with leaf spring setups.
