Thuren front leveling kit
Thuren front leveling kit
I am a little confused by the way this reads. I am looking just to level out my Power Wagon. Does that mean I want the 1.5"? I'm guessing so.... It just reads wierd to me.
Or does that mean 1.5" or 2" lift?

Re: Thuren from leveling kit
Got ya. So will that 1/2" really level out my Power Wagon?
And they give you the option to chose 1-1/2 or 1/2 in a drop down box when ordering?

2014+ Power Wagon 1-1/2" Front Lift will level you. At least it did for me.

Don’s Hemi springs are 2” and 3” over a normal 2500 gasser. Accounting for the Power Wagon factory lift and weight of the winch, they net 0.5” and 1.5” on a Power Wagon.

Re: Thuren from leveling kit
If you want level, get the 1.5” springs. Just be warned, that’s going to be LEVEL. Put any significant weight in the back and the truck is going to sit nose high like a SoCal bro dozer.txjfrosty wrote:I am a little confused by the way this reads. 1.5” front springs and a 1” rear coil spacer is a popular combo for those looking to gain that extra inch of ground clearance but also keep a little bit of forward rake.

Re: Thuren from leveling kit
Awesome! Thanks. That cleared it up.
Re: Thuren from leveling kit
Significant weight like 300lbs or 800lbs? I rarely load more than a few hundred lbs in the bed or tow more than 3k-4k pounds.
Thinking level will be good for me.
Re: Thuren from leveling kit
If you do the 1.5 springs and find for whatever reason it's a little nose high with the weight you carry you can add a rear 1 inch spacer for like 100 bucks and come out ahead.txjfrosty wrote:Significant weight like 300lbs or 800lbs? Re: Thuren from leveling kit
What's confusing is that they are both the same coils, Don has a separate section for the PW. We often confuse people talking about the standard vs the PW.Low_Sky wrote: ↑Tue Mar 19, 2019 10:30 amWrong.PWJouster wrote:its 1.5 inch over factory 2500s but only .5 inch over a factory powerwagon

So a 3-inch lift coil on a standard Hemi is the same as the 1.5 for the PW, but both are the same coil. So it's pretty easy to get this mixed up.
But, most people think their PW is magical. Guys ask all the time why they can't find a PW specific spacer, not realizing it's the same. Or god forbid the trucks. "They don't have 2018 listed" - hey dummies, nothing is different. Maybe they haven't listed it yet. Duh.

Re: Thuren front leveling kit
So "Either 1-1/2" lift or 1/2" lift OVER the factory Power Wagon 1-1/2" front lift." doesn't sound ambiguous to you? It did to me, until it was thoroughly explained.
But thank you for that awesome bit of help...

I saw you had several replies that stated the same thing that you quoted from thurens site, otherwise I would have elaborated.
However, after I read what you quoted from me I realize that was quite a douche response. As much as it sounds like I was being an asshole, it absolutely was not my intention. Everybody interperits things differently... I was just simply stating that I thought Thuren did a perfect job explaining it... but again, that did nothing for the thread.
Get the 1.5” springs if you want it level, get the .5” springs if you want a rake
And post up pikchurz when your done!!!!!!

Re: Thuren front leveling kit
And “level” is a bit subjective.
When these Rams are “level”, by measurement, they tend to look a bit low out back.
I have 1.5” spacers under mine, which leaves the back 3/4” or so higher still. I personally would not want the rake any less.
When I get the Thuren overland kit, I plan on adding a spacer in the back. But I will wait till I can see it and take some measurements before I get the spacer.

You'll need it. That's exacrly what happened to me. Just springs up front was fine but then when I went to the full Thuren kit I needed rhe spacer. But i actually added the spacer when I just had the front springs and the rake was nice. Just enough to give it a level appearance but reality was about 3/4 to inch of rake. On full Thuren with Kings I have about a half inch of rake which is a level appearance. Keep in mind that is with Ramboxes full of recovery gear. Snow chains, 30 foot of recovery chain... shackles, snatch blocks, compressor, hi lift, etc.olyelr wrote:And “level” is a bit subjective.

Re: Thuren front leveling kit
Gotchya. Yea my bed is completely empty 95% of the time, but my ramboxes always stay loaded up with gear. And I have bags, so when I haul heavy I use those. I want the rear up 3/4”-1” from the front for my everyday setup. Which I think will be around a 3/4”-1” spacer, going by what you guys have been telling me.TankerZak wrote: ↑Wed Mar 20, 2019 10:53 amYou'll need it. That's exacrly what happened to me. Re: Thuren front leveling kit
The Traxada one inch spacer worked well for me. But they did just redesign it and now it goes on the bottom of the springs instead of the top. They also will make custom spacers for nearly double the price. No idea what else is out there but BoldAdventure and I used the same spacer.olyelr wrote:Gotchya. Re: Thuren front leveling kit
FYI on the 03-13 trucks, if you’re in stock springs, usually the springs have sagged out so much that those lift numbers are usually quite off. On my truck I used the 1.5” lift springs and it gave me 4” of lift.
Re: Thuren front leveling kit
No worries bro. I know I have typed things on forums that made sense to me, but other misinterpreted it.
Planning to order up the kit this weekend. So hopefully I can get it installed in a week or two. I'll post up some pics after.
