Don was seriously helpful while I was being very inarticulate in my wants and needs acting like a teething baby or 6 month old male puppy.

I have come to this below build to start off my powerwagon dreams. my intent are to install the below, and address sway bars and stabilizers after the fact.
with the release of the 3.0 came the trigger finger swiftly.
stage 3 front
stage 2 rear
aggressive daily driving with speeds up to 80MPH and swiftly exiting and entering highways and driveways.

the way Thuren will artfully deliver these kings, the petite 35s, the black on black on black... im thinking this suspension will need some rock lights.

Yup, those 3.0's came out right after I put in my order for the 2.5's. But I don't really need the 3.0's as awesome as they would be since I have everything setup for slower speeds and crawling.

Now you get to wait around like the rest of us mortals in anticipation.

The 3.0s will be badass! I think my favorite part about them is that they're coming in black cerakote... DROOL.

I'm really happy with the performance of my 2.5s, the 3.0s will only be better. Congrats on the killer setup! Where are you located? I know one guy down my way who ordered the 3.0s but he's putting them on a diesel.

My understanding is anything larger than 2.5's would be too large to fit through, without hitting, the rear shock holes in the frame has that be addressed somehow?

No, these are Pintops for the front only currently.

in in south florida so i wont be getting much dune bashing in, but i should be able to explore high speed gravel fire roads with washouts and ruts .

I've been out there. Seems more like a mud hole to me. Not going very fast at all. All the times we went out. Options in Florida are limited.

You'll be able to 'explore' a lot with those dampers including tearing up anything on roads made for common vehicles. I'm on full thuren springs, boogies, trackbars f/r, and king stage 5 front/4 rear. After 10k miles they are starting to break in and getting very, very smooth..

there is an entrance ramp to the highway that has an incline of about 10% that makes a sharp bank to the right to enter the highway 20 feet above grade.

this is 100% my testing and proving grounds.
i take this entrance ramp 5 days a week, typically free and clear road ahead. 10-20-30-40-45MPH easy. i say easy because i have balls of aluminum and a great sense of when vehicles are unsettled (track and offroad experience)

this entrance ramp is part of construction that will never end(i hope it wont before the install) and has terrible uneven pavement layers and patches and potholes.

the stock truck would get very unsettled at anything over 25MPH. the rear end would wag, and the steering wheel will turn lock to lock with the abruptness of flexing front axles and rear end squirm.(45 MPH and it feels like youve done a corkscrew on a rollercoaster) not everyone has experienced extreme steering wheel input from high speed axle articulation. I almost lost a couple fingers.

clearly this is only one of the many ride improvements ill be evaluating, but i believe it will lead to the biggest sense of overall control ive gained.

the stock goodyears would howl on this ramp and instill a sense of rear end slippage and sidewall flex, but the toyos at the same pressure have already improved the handling of this and helped the truck feel planted. GOODYEARS ARE NOT IDEAL

Rear end wag in large part is due to the rear trackbar

haha how so?

ive owned a myriad of different types of vehicles
2010 335i RWD COBB tuned TT 18PSI
2013 S6 Audi APR tuned 600+ HP Quattro
2015 BMW x5 50i BMS TT tuned AWD -almost at X5M capability
Multiple Wranglers
2016 Hellcat Charger
now Powerwagon

i think i know what im looking for, and unless you mean raptor vs PW debate, im good to go.

i may have explained poorly but im not sure where you assumed

Rear track bar, sway bar, tires. The shocks won't change the geometry.

of course they wont, but i sure do bet they change the geometry of my heart.

im only looking for the improvement, i know this is not a trophy truck nor a F.

It's a solid front axle truck. No getting around that. If you bought a PW thinking it would handle and drive like a IFS truck (or your sports car) forget it. The solid front axle is very strong but it's heavy. With the right spring and shock combo it can deal with rough terrain and road conditions but you still have a 3/4 ton truck front and rear axle.

It's not a trophy truck...and will never be. I would like to try those 3.0 kings. Stage 4 front and rear would be perfect.

You will receive your shocks in probably mid-april. I do like your style :) .

Yeah there’s never a problem when:
- it’s free
- you don’t have to maintain it
- you don’t have it long enough to know you completely fucked the axle

The new trucks can’t take the beating the older trucks could, the front axle is 5 distinct sections and can bend easily. The older trucks bent front axles all the time I’m really hard hits but they could take a lot more and could be bent back. You don’t even have to get air in the new trucks to bend them. I can almost guarantee the axle on that Power Wagon is way bent. The truss is to keep the axle straight and prevent bending and works crazy well.

Also keeps the center from breaking the plug welds and spinning. You don't have to bend the axle to spin the center.
