2007 front shocks

Post by Powerlinefixer » Sat Oct 11, 2025 2:34 pm

I don't know if I have the correct front shocks for my 2007 Power Wagon.

The old shocks are original OEM Bilsteins. The old rear shocks (P/N 52121458AD) are an exact match to the new Bilstein 24-186094. The old front shocks (P/N 52121970AA) are an exact match EXCEPT the extended length is almost 3 inches longer than the new Bilstein 24-186070.

If I look up front shocks on the Mopar website it comes up with P/N 5179653AA, which crosses to the same Bilstein 24-186070 on Bilstein's website.

It seems that the new Bilstein front shocks are wrong. The 24-186070 shock says it also fits the non-Power Wagon 2500.

I emailed Bilstein and after several days they replied saying that I should use the B8 5160 series 25-311754.

I want to stay with the original 4600 series. Does anyone have any input on this?

Thank you.

When we replaced ours on our 2005 PW running 35’s went w the B8 5160 front & back & everything worked fine. Is your rig lifted or have a leveling kit? That may make a difference,,,

Most replaced the oem shocks with something. Like the 5100, 5160. I went to the 7100's with remotes. Then to custom Kings. The stock oem's are a bit under dampened.

It's 100% stock. No lift or leveling kit.
